I went with the very same rifle you are considering but in a full size version. There was very little weight savings when compared to the compact. We shortened the stock and got it comfortable to shoot. We picked up the SPS at sportsman's black Friday for $300. That got us started and I have worked it up to my daughters shooting needs/style not mine.

Once in 6A for my wife's Muzzy cow hunt we can across a water hole after a long day in the field. We decided to sit there for the last 3hrs of the day.I wrapped an orange vest around a tree that we we sitting under just in case. An hour later a truck pulled into the water hole. Two guys got out talking up a storm as they got their stuff together. Finally after what seemed like 10min. one of them finally noticed us. We were a whole 20yards away. They both started cursing and talking poop. We did not move a muscle. They got back into the truck and started to drive away but stopped about 30yards down the road, pulled out a pistol and shot into the air 5-6 times and said a few more choice words about how the water hole was his.

Crew, 4x4,6.7, lariat. Prior to 2017 that was about it. Now Ford wants nearly $1k for just the fancy headlights. You can be sure that 99% of the new ones that are not work trucks will have them. Period. So far a 2017 is out of the running. Itjust does not feel right paying full boat for a truck. A 2016 SLT GMC 2500 fells like a higher end truck to me than a 2016 F250 for the same money. Everything is pointingto holding out for another year. Even the 2017 GM diesels are upping the hp/torque numbers big time. My problem is holding back the wife. Granted that is a Great problem to have. She hunts, shoots, drinks and spends better than me any day of the week than me. ......I am truly blessed.
