I know it is not ‘coues related’ but I wanted to tap into the wealth of information you all have collectively. My wife has been after me for years for a nice pool table for our home. I can't hold her off any longer. I don't want to spend $2-4k for a table but I still want a brand that is well made and will last a lifetime. We have been looking at craigslist and have found a ton of options but I just don't know enough about them. Can anyone give me any information in general I should know before we move forward?? I have taken in to account the cost of moving and set up. Any one here do that!?! I have only heard about Connelly tables before now made here locally in Tucson. I do know I want an 8ft table. Any other brand I should look for? How about brands like Buckhorn, DLT, Legacy, Fischer? Any I should stay away from? Olhausen seems to be a high end table, perhaps a bit too high for me. What else should I be asking the seller/looking for when looking a table over. Thanks in advance…

Oh how time flys! I ended up with a Connelly Santa Rosa. It was made some 20 years ago. Some reported that Connelly table’s quality varied a few years ago due to poor business/bankruptcy/etc. The 'older' tables were not an issue. I purchased it off an older retired gentleman whose custom home seemed to be built around his prized pool table. The pool room/bar was strategically placed so no sun light, he stated that sunlight was a wood and rail killer, would hit the table. It was in an awesome private bar that many of us would pay to drink in! I was happy to end up just under the 2K mark including new felt and transfer from Scottsdale to Tucson. Especially considering he showed me receipts totaling $5k+ from the early 90’s. That table alone is now north of $6k! For the record my wife was indeed the one who pushed for it! We have had many family and friends over for spirited pool tournaments with plenty of drinks and honor pushing the wagers. The table is now ready for a new felt. Three year old boys with milk do not go well with the cloth! I will have it taken down again for new flooring and use that opportunity to do so. Attached is an image of my table minus the frilly pockets and carpet. More D

The first Javi I shot was less than 5 yards away from two cows when I first saw him. All three were feeding and none seemed to bother anyone else. In total there was 5 cows and 6 Javies with in an area as far as you could throw a rock in all directions. More D
