Man, I really enjoyed that. Thanks so much for the entertainment. What wild scene in the wilderness. Congratulations!

Ragu, Go back and read the posts. I made a reference to "some rich guy". Never called him a rich guy. Atthat point in the thread we were on a different subject that didnt include you. I had no clue who dbllung was or if he was rich or poor. Just made a reference to the rich guys that try to buy everything in life. You must not have met any rich people that were born that way and never had to work a day in their life. You think they are DIY in life. Now that is a joke! There now you can sleep at night. I brought it up again because doublelung felt compelled to say he wasn't rich. Clearly he thought the perception was there, too. But, I really don't care. If you have a disdain for people who were born rich, that's like not liking people who were born tall or good looking. Big deal. My real question that relates to the post is about the 'one lung' hit.
-
thanks, doublelung. My favorite part is that you're suddenly some sort of really rich guy now. But, I'd also like to know why 'one lunging' an elk is considered a kill shot. Elk survive that a lot. Heck, I've survived a pretty darn well punctured lung. If it was only punctured and not completely destroyed, that elk is likely to live if it doesn't bleed a lot. Anyway, thanks for posting. and sharing a whole other point of view. I think the story is pretty easy to piece together for me.

This thread has it all: I've laughed, I've cried, I've gagged. The part that made me almost puke is the comment about 'rich guys filling voids'. What a judgemental joke of an opinion. Many 'rich' guys have absolutely no void to fill because they pursued everything they ever dreamed of and succeeded. Most 'rich' guys are DIY in life. No guide hired there. Some 'poor' guys have voids because they never attempted anything they dreamed of and take short cuts on everything. Some 'poor' guys are greatest, most giving people on Earth. So, rich or poor has nothing to do with it and is just a bunch of whining. A man is a man and if they do something stupid in the field, they could be from any socioeconomic background. Of all the states in the union, Arizona is the last place to start class warfare. Try hunting in Virginia or Maryland where land trusts and ownership can be dated all the way back to colonial days and only certain bloodstreams of people have ever touched those hunting grounds.

Folks, I tagged my first archery antelope. It was a super fun hunt and I put together a light-hearted video of some rutting action. There was one very nice buck that I got to 159 yards on, but he had 10 does and I just couldn't close the deal. This video shows how this buck ruled his ladies. Wish I could have gotten closer for the video here, but I'll post one later that shows him a little better. http://wp.me/pSqH4-7m UPDATE- And here is the WHOLE story: http://raguoutdoors.wordpress.com/2011/08/25/2012-arizona-pronghorn-antelope-archery-hunt/

Thanks for taking the time to read the story. I always debate whether I should spend so much time writing them up. As many of us on these forums know, there is satisfaction in reliving a tale, sharing it, and learning from each other. The thing I learned most on this hunt is that being aggressive is OK and maybe even smart.

Congratulations, it has been hot! Way to tough it out! Can't wait to see the pics.

Nice work! Looks like you paid some serious dues. That makes is a great trophy for you. As for your PS. to the Blue FJ Cruiser; that made me really chuckle. But, I'm wondering why?

Here's the full story and a few more pics and videos. http://raguoutdoors.wordpress.com/2011/08/25/2012-arizona-pronghorn-antelope-archery-hunt/

Thanks for the looks. Wish I could've gotten closer, but I've got other footage that's a little better. I will post it soon. The real issue is that i was using a tiny camera and trying to hunt, too, so being steady is almost impossible.

Awesome. Great shot even though he didn't expire right away, you're arrow hit the right spot. Beautiful country. I didn't want to leave after my hunt.

That is a great buck. Nice work and congratulations!

I'm assuming many of you have seen these decoy hats. These promos videos are worth watching while they decoy muleys, elk, and pronghorns. http://raguoutdoors.wordpress.com/2011/07/06/bow-hunters-in-really-funny-hats-trick-deer-pronghorn-and-elk/ Sort of funny in a way. what do you think?

Check out the story of these two Texas brothers and their many trophy Whitetails. It really is shocking and I don't have much to say about it except that is really too bad people like this exist. http://raguoutdoors.wordpress.com/2011/06/28/big-time-poachers-busted/

So, called my friend to see how the fishing was in Colorado and he told me the rivers were just running incredibly high. He emailed me this video of him surfing in the Colorado River. Really cool stuff http://wp.me/pSqH4-5i

"Wildlife officials are continuing to investigate the case and could charge some of the clients involved. Both brothers are appealing their sentences." Here's a quote I didn't think much about. Though many clients may have been misled, let's face it. Some were not and knew exactly what they bought. I wonder who else will be brought down.

When you say that 'day was truly blessed.' I agree. You were blessed 10x that day. Family, nature, fish, wildlife, etc. etc. etc. Amen.

Nice work. Keep it up
