Current lake level is 27% Crappie and Bass being caught, minnows are available at the Soda Canyon Complex convenience store. DAN

The only place on the Rez that has Smallmouth is the Black/Salt River which should be turning on here very soon, there have never been any Smallmouth stocked in any other locations on the Rez unless it was done unlawfully. Highway Tank dries up regularly so not much effort is made to stock it, Upper Highway Tank can get good for Largemouth Bass, Tanks Canyon used to have good Largemouth and Big Channel Cats, Brushy Basin Tank should have good Bass and Catfish, Sycamore Tank has small Bass. Most tanks are self sustaining and the last time we stocked LMB in any of the tanks was 2009, other than that we regularly stocked a wide range of the tanks with mostly CCF. DAN

As of today (4/21) there were no permits available at Circle K in Globe, the Good 2 Go convenience store by Pizza Hut has permits once again but their computer went down today, might possibly be fixed sometimes tomorrow (4/22), the Department office in Peridot will be open Saturday and Sunday from 6am to 2pm. DAN

I think the only requirement is must have Flourite. DAN

Jig set ups are outfishing minnows but it's more about "the hot spots" like shootin' fish in a barrel. DAN

Just came from Talkalai earlier, several ppl fishing from shore at all parts of the lake and everyone was catching crappie, one guy pulled his stringer up and had at least a dozen crappie, they were all using either worms or jigs, sounds like best time is right before dark. The road was getting graded today as well, they touched up a couple of the bad wash out spots looks good. **Also route 6 from the casino area to San Carlos is closed so you need to head to bashas then north to Talkalai. On the other side of town the crappie fishing at San Carlos has shifted to Old San Carlos and Mohave areas, they're working the coves pretty good with minnows and jigs, watched a few boats today land crappie before noon, the primitive launch at Mohave might be the ticket for your set up and the cove right there should keep you plenty busy without having to venture into the open water. Looked to be roughly 40-50 boats on the water today, last guys launched at 10:30am then the race was on. DAN
