I seen the first poll on the weather channel. I don't know if anyone worries about the second set of questions, or do they.

Those are some great offers, I think the closest wal-mart to where you will be hunting will be in Sierra Vista, you can probably call them if you have to to see if they carry the stuff you need, but snapshots offer on the start of your hunt might be your best option. Good luck on your hunt. Wal-Mart Store #1240 657 State Hwy 90 Sierra Vista, AZ 85635 (520) 458-8790

Ever see a Rattle Snake being eaten.....
KGAINES replied to scoutm's topic in Non-hunting trip reports
I believe the two snakes sparky mentioned are a solid color, I wonder about the kingsnakes because they are constrictors and the indigo sort of beats them up from what I have heard or read, but it is not in AZ. Here are some kingsnakes http://www.reptilesofaz.com/Snakes-Subpages/h-l-getula.html -
Doug that sounds like denial.

Ever see a Rattle Snake being eaten.....

I think it is an Indigo snake. -
I am starting to see a lot of them around where I live. Do they cross breed with the mourning or whitewings? I didn't check, but do you need the migratory bird stamp before shooting them?

I read about a drunk elk and lose the ability to spell animal. Either that or Lark is rubbing off on all of us, I can't wait for his drunk elk story.

I shoot the 45-70 in the marlin lever guns and it is now my favorite round, Scottyboy I will be getting one of the Sharp's eventually. If you reload it has a lot of options and there are some really good factaory loads too, the new hornady leverevolution bullet works extremely well. My brother took his Coues with it last year with the .325 gr. leverevolution bullet, and like Scottyboy said he took a Buffalo with one and I think his was loaded with a blackpowder cartridge, you can correct me if I'm wrong. It is definately different than the 30-06, but it isn't a flat shooter.

Here is an article I pulled up and there are a ton of these out there, the best option would be to try it out and see what you get, just make sure you don't go under or over the reccomended loads. Muzzleloaders are fun to shoot. http://www.shootingtimes.com/longgun_revie...107/index2.html

Congrats on your new muzzleloader. I do have a question to any one, does anyone own or have used the savage 10ML-II. I am really interested in this and it has been out for a few years now. http://savagearms.com/muzzleloader_home.htm

After the boogie man question I figured I would ask.

I am thinking Jim is writing up the story and going through the photos he is going to post. Plus he has to crack up when he looks at the CW.com waiting list.

Im the same way. I love shark week, as I think they are extremly interesting but I sure as heck have no need to meet one... especially mouth to leg! As close as I get is Sea World
-
heck YEAH!!! heck, I dont even like swimming in lakes thining there is a 60 lb catfish gonna come up and take a bite out of my leg! I didn't want to ask what worst fears are, but sharks are my number one. Watch that air jaws crap and I wouldn't even get on water skis or a tube behind a boat in the ocean. Sharks, crocs, barracudas, jellyfish, giant squid, and too many other to count in an environment where we can't breathe, the ocean sucks.
-
I picked giant catfish in the first category, I am not afraid of the water, but the thought of some of the monster fish I have seen grabbing a foot or arm depending on what you are doing bothers me a little, the others really don't bother me. The bottom category sucks, as I have said about people when you mix in drugs or drug related activity people have no sense and will harm anyone, the same goes for brain washed animal rights people and the satanic cultist types that are around as well. Now if the aliens and Bigfoot are doing the drugs they would bother me too. How many people over the years have stayed up north during the elk rut, but have never heard an elk or even knew they made noise, and left during the night or the next morning because there were dinosaurs or bigfoot or whatever screaming all night. A sound that we all love to hear would scare the crap out of a few people.

Coues Deer Celebration 5!!!
KGAINES replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Thanks Amanda that was Great. -
I am guessing that snake is in the radius I have around my house that gives them lead poisoning, any rattlesnake within that radius usually dies of that if I see them. http://www.reptilesofaz.com/Snakes-Subpage...c-molossus.html Casey is that snake big enough for a hat band for you, and for the record you can shoot one of those in the head on purpose.
-
I checked and found only one per calender year unless you have a special tag (governor's tag), and that does not count towards the yearly bag limit. Back in the day it used to say two per calender year as long as one was taken with one of the leftover tags, I bet the commission could ammend their rules at any time to authorize the sell of the leftover tags to those already in possession of a permit, and authorize the two deer for those individuals. Justr remember I said could and commission in the same sentence and I think the chances of that happening are slim to none. http://www.azgfd.gov/pdfs/inside_azgfd/all_azgfd_laws.pdf

I had a funny thing happen growing up with the La Chusa, since I had no idea what my friends seen or believed, when they yelled and took off, I had no fear, we seen an owl, they spent hours trying to convince me to be afraid of the La Chusa. Without belief in it there is no fear until proof, most fears are built as kids, either reading, watching on tv, or with stories passed down, or simply with parental threats. The true monsters in this world are the child molesters, rapist, and murderers that can be your neighbor, it can be man or woman, young or old, educated or not, at least if you really seen bigfoot you would know what it was, people might not believe you, but you would know, with the human monsters it takes being caught before there is proof of what they are, and even then they get a trial and a chance.

UNSPORTSMAN LIKE CONDUCT!!!!
KGAINES replied to Buckhunter's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
A little flashing light that says tracking beacon armed, or something to that effect might deter some, but thieves are thieves. Maybe put a little note that says something like one of four cameras in the area to stop criminal activity, property of such and such county sheriffs dept. or AZGFD, but then again thieves will be thieves that is why when they catch a thief a good ole fashioned whoopin might make them think twice before doing it again, especially if it happens a few miles from a road. If you had the money it would be freaking awesome to have one with a lojack type device and catch someone in the act or show up at their house with the police, but catching them and providing some behavioral adjustments would still be the best option. -
I think a lot of people fear the unknown, but while saying that the true unknown is other people. Either you believe or don't believe in strange phenomena, if you don't it don't other bother you and if you do it probably interests you so it lessens the fears. Nature is unknown to a point, lightning is random, but if you take certain precautions you are relatively safe even during a storm. Others are unpredictable, but if you use common sense again you are relatively safe. With people you just don't know, a nut is a nut, a killer is a killer, but they are still people and can look just like anyone else. When I have my kids in the car, unless I deem the situation an emergency I ain't stopping to help anyone. It is a little different while hunting, most people stop and talk to someone holding a weapon in plain sight and in camo's, same situation in town and you call the police and avoid the nut case. Another bad thing is if you catch the drug addict stealing from you and do any more than call the police, you are treated as a criminal, you ALMOST can't protect your own property.
