TATA if the parent just said good for being in trouble at school those were the lenient parents, most kids hoped by taking the swat or whatever the parents wouldn't find out, because it was going to be way worse at home. Kids respected their teachers, their elders, and especially their parents, nowadays they have no respect for anyone, thus no respect for the law, mike vick isn't sorry for what he did, he is just sorry he got caught.

If someone robbed your house would you run, if someone attacked you would you run, if someone attacked your family would you leave, NO YOU WOULDN'T, kill the dang deer and maybe you will get the enjoyment of showing it to the SOB that stole your camera, even if you don't know who it is.

Dogfighting and unless you are eating the chickens cockfighting is also in on this. It really sucks when a non hunter represents a hunter, or at least an ignorant hunter represents hunters. America is a dog loving society, people love their dogs, this includes non-hunters, anti-hunters, and hunters, dogfighting pisses off and offends 99% of the population.

Hopefully this will make it clear on how I feel about this topic. I don't give a dang where the nra, the humane society, peta, the RMEF, the firefighters, the legislature, the President, Hillary, or any freakin body else stands on this, I am Opposed to it, I am an American and I have the right to say and feel how I want, I hope the sick bastard and all his buddies spend a lot of years behind bars. He broke the law, there are a lot of legal things he can do with dogs and fighting them isn't one of them, poaching is illegal do you want to defend a poacher because a 100 years ago it wasn't against the law. There have to be certain laws and with them there has to be common sense, apparently he has no respect for the law, and abslutely no common sense. ruffcountry it is great to see both sides of an argument, I just don't care for the other side of this one.

That is so right on . Now just substitute the word "anti" for "animal rights activist " and and the word "hunter" for the name of any other animal use group and you'll be getting real close to where I am coming from . There is no use or good from a dogfighter, unless its that these guys pick up strays and steal dogs when they can to throw them in with their dogs to be tore apart. Dogfighting is a felony, and not only are animal rights groups against it so is law enforcement, and me.

Harvest--Kill = ok Harvester--Hunter = farmer is a better fit I don't see it It sure looks better than Hunter--Killer = doesn't look good I understand your point and if I was talking to another hunter my terminology would be normal, if I was talking to an anti my terminology would be the same, if I was talking to a someone at work about hunting and knew they didn't hunt but were really interested I would try to make hunting sound as enjoyable as possible, I would be honest, once you get to talking with them you can usually tell how to advance in the conversation. Funny though if I was talking to my seven year old buy and said I really hope I harvest and elk this year, he might just say don't you mean kill one, and I will explain that he is exactly right.

I wouldn't support vick or anyone who was involved in that crap, I hope he gets all five years, and loses every thing he had. Its pretty dang hard to support a freaking felon, I aam not saying I would support him if dogfighting was legal, but he broke the law and he is an idiot, he gave up everything he had, it wasn't taken, he made a decision to do what he did and now he can live with the consequenses. I would support a lot of things in the name of hunters, but he crossed the line and now he has to pay, and just because peta and the other groups are against him we should be for him, screw that and screw him, he's a freaking loser and he proved it. Yes it is overblown, but when you are a 25 million dollar a year pro football quarterback you are going to get some press, he should have known better, but it does look like his money paid for some great lawyers because a poorer man would have had to face every dang charge.

Antis are more a cult than religion, they have nothing to base their beliefs on aside from a personal agenda. Hunters pass down their beliefs and their knowledge to their children, some accept it others don't, we very rarely gain a hunter from the non hunters, but we do lose them from our own families, be it from peer pressure or their own ideoligies, we should try to keep them as our supporters in some way rather than completely against us. I am not going into the illegal issue, but I will say I ain't shooting anyone except to defend myself or my family and in an act of war, human life is way to precious to shoot someone for that, it is a problem and no one cares for a solution.

This is what makes me mad about antis, hunters don't make people hunt, but antis want to make you stop. It affects them in no way, in fact we save the animals and keep healthy herds and populations, we do more habitat work than they ever thought of, and for that we are persecuted.

No the more I see this the more I want too, if not for me for my kids.

Dave it does seems to be getting worse every year, but if someones stuck while I am hunting I always ask if they need help. I never know when it might be me. I am glad that I can see all aspects of what is going on with hunting now just so I can do my part to help, but the old saying that ignorance is bliss isn't too far off.

The funny thing about this is when someone says " tell me what you think" they are really asking tell me some watered down version of what you think. There is good and bad with everything, liberals claim the freedom of speech to say what they feel, and we have the same freedom and we change words and use less graphic terms to appease them, but as rembrant stated in all reality we are not trying to appease them we are trying to keep the group that sits on the fence right where they are at. I love to argue, but arguing with a anti is going to be like speaking to a rock, then again if there are more than just the two of us I would try to make them look like an idiot if at all possible. The word harvest is fine, but everyone knows that to harvest the animal you must kill it. The way to look at it is to kill an animal humanely and use as much of the animal as possible you have harvested it, to kill an animal and let it go to waste you have simply killed it. From a lot of posts and what I read we critique ourselves much more than anyone else, I really hope we don't read more into this than what it is, in the end we will still be hunters and the anti's will still be anti's, we will still kill and harvest animals and they will still kill and harvest soy beans. Then they will sneak to Mcdonald's, if they're caught they act like an alcoholic that has fallen off the wagon, so they are hipocrits too. As you can tell I am debating this topic with myself, I hope I win.

Guys I agree with a lot of what is said and I hate to say it but an anti doesn't give a darn what words we use, we could make up words to describe what we do and they would still take offense, the word hunt in their book is derogatory. It isn't the words we use that upsets them it is the act itself, truthfully I don't care. I will say this though if you post something to the effect of the rabbit blew apart when I shot it with the ... as opposed to the new bullet I used didn't or did work as I wanted to on the rabbit, can cause different reactions from certain people. It is all PC and we are never going to make friends of the antis, but a little caution wouldn't hurt to keep the non hunters from being anti hunters.

We have had a lot of discussions on here about legal and ethical, dogfighting is neither legal nor ethical, when you drop two have starved probably roided up drugged up dogs into a pit to kill each other you are a sick person, and even the winner is usually about dead. Now we hear if they do not do as they are taught or if they are not game enough they torture them for fun. As someone said earlier they were proud to be an American and can speak how they feel, well we all can and just because the groups that are against Vick are groups with an agenda against hunting doesn't mean we should support him, being an American also gives him a right to a trial and to be innocent until proven guilty, he pleaded guilty, he deserves everything he gets and if he didn't do what was said I would spend every dang penny I had to prove my innocence and would go to my dying day with at least me knowing that I did the right thing and was honest, he confessed because he did it and if he didn't even worse charges were going to be brought against him. I would beat the heck out of someone if I caught them doing that to a dog, but on the same note if a house was burning down with someone I hated in it and there was also a dog, and I only had time to save one the dog is dying, human life is more important. The groups who want to stop hunting don't give a crap about what is right or not they have an agenda and will use any means necessary to to get what they want including linking hunting and dogfighting together, they want to make us all out to be a bunch of shoot em up rednecks from the backhills of Arkansas and the fact that most of us are educated, honest, law abiding citizens just ticks them off. The sports radio shows were all doing this weeks ago depending on the host of the show, using this as a way to state their anti hunting viewpoints or speak with ignorance on hunting period.
