I think the ADA has stated their position at the azgfd meetings, the ADA has stated repeatedly that there should be more quality hunts and not so much emphasis on quantity. I don't know if you took the ADA survey a few years ago, it pointed that out too, but the commission dismissed it ( at least three of the members did). The newsletter that you got I believe was just an overview of what the meetings are about, and that you need to let your voice be heard. If you ever have a question or wonder what the ADA does you can go to a meeting, they are held on the third Tuesday every month, this month it is the 19th. The location changes, but if anyone is interested just ask and the location and directions can be posted. Hopefully wetmule will post his thoughts on this as well as Amanda.

A group of houndsmen put the AZ proposal together on their own initiative, I don't think AZGFD had much to say about it aside from stating that there are very few lions taken during that time of the year. I think the anti's won't be satisfied with any partial closures, it is all or nothing for them and they will ask for more next year until they get what they want. During the three month closure there are still units that are open to lion hunting year round until the harvest objective is reached, you would have to check the regs or call for those units though.

How many times can the tables be turned?

I wonder if the calfs story will change through the years like a fishing tale, by the time that calf is grown up it will be 20 lions and a river full of crocs. -

I talked with a friend of mine the other day and he was telling me that his brother was hit in Mexico by a Mexican, it was my friends car, the Mexican police arrested the guy for not having a license, they held him in jail until my friends car was fixed. My friend is an American of Mexican descent, I wonder what would happen here if that was the law, I'll bet everyone would have insurance or own an auto shop. I really don't think calling someone a Mexican is derogatory, if they are from Mexico and are not a U.S. citizen they are Mexican, the same as Canadian. Once they become citizens they then become Americans. One thing that I heard the other day that is becoming more and more true, you can see a car that says black power or brown pride driving down the road and it doesn't cause a single problem, but you see a car that says white power and it would be looked at as a racist slogan, white people would probably be more outraged seeing it than anything. Carlos Mencia was the one who said it, but it is true. That is sad that political correctness has caused everyone to worry about what is said and how it is taken, don't get me wrong either there are racist out there of all nationalities, and they are all scum. I think it does put fear in law enforcement officers when dealing with people that can't speak English, the thought that something very small or wrongly perceived could cost them their job, or have Jesse and Al picketing their house and screaming lawsuit, not to mention that everyone has a bad day now and then. God Bless All -
He had a choice, Bush or hillary, any other time a dog picks a Bush, but hopefully most will follow his lead and piss on hillary.

It depends if you have cool rims and whitewalls on the rhino, the radio is a must have, for future stucco crew jobs so leave that at home. That would be baiting and I don't know if thats legal.

I wonder what the percentage is of the guy getting bit trying to catch the snake that bit his wife/girlfriend in the foot or ankle. -
Congrats to you and your daughter.

Top ten reason why Men prefer guns over women 10. You can trade an old 44 for a new 22. 9. You can keep a gun at home and have another for when you are on the road. 8. If you admire a friend’s gun and tell him so, he will probably let you try it out a few times. 7. Your primary gun doesn’t care if you have another for backup. 6. Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo. 5. A gun doesn’t use up a lot of closet space. 4. Guns function normally every day of the month. 3. A gun doesn’t ask “Does this make me look fat”? 2. A gun doesn’t mind if you go to sleep after you use it. And the number one reason A gun is favored over a woman 1. YOU CAN BUY A SILENCER FOR A GUN.

Remember while were sticking it to the saudis and the middle east we need to stick it to the venezualans too or at least to their worthless leader chavez.

I guess if they did that there will be no more reason to fight the shooting of does in the kaibab, why the studies if you are going to change the entire dynamic of the results. Plus I was told that aside from the kaibab herd that mule deer are struggling across the rest of the state (drought was the reason), why hurt a struggling deer herd with more predators, not to mention antelope that already have enough problems with coyotes. "It's just part of a strategy to restore the ecosystem, and wolves are a key component of that," Crumbo said. Well I guess humans haven't been a part of the ecosystem long enough to matter.

Those golf courses in sun city are loaded with yotes I counted nine together at one course one day, and the courses in sun city grand put out coyote archery targets around the course to scare the geese and ducks off the greens because they don't have enough if any.

Favorite part of hunting?
KGAINES replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I think every hunt can have something completely different, for the young and the beginners it can be the first time they spot something on their own, all the way up to when they harvest an animal, or it can be helping a friend or family member on a hunt. I lost my dad a few years ago and when I am hunting I still feel the connection with my dad, as you guys have said there is no work or worries it is just you and nature and for me great memories. My kids are getting a little older and I have a feeling my favorite is going to change real soon when its them I am hunting with and helping out. -

I saw the same thing, and it's scary that Arizona is going to cut three months off lion season. First it started with no harvesting lions with kittens, now they are starting to take the season away. Right now California is having serious problems with an over population of lions, and if Arizona wants to head in that direction our big game are in serious trouble... I don't know if that went through because I left before that, but the proposal was put forward by houndsmen. Amanda posted somewhere on here the reason for the proposal, the houndsmen wanted to ensure lion hunting in the future, plus they wanted to close the season when the kittens are most vulnerable, this was done to stop the chance of seeing a couple of kittens that were orphaned due to the mother being killed. The proposal in its initial form would still have the units that have harvest objectives due to bighorn and I think antelope predation would still be open. I don't know if there are any houndsmen on here that know more than what I have heard, I do know that I would not want to give up anything without being forced too. One other thing I heard was that the lions taken during that time of year was very low. http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...amp;#entry61811 Amanda's post was number 33 that included a letter and description of the proposal. -
North Kaibab recommendations

I wish I would have had an archery tag with me to show them, but that might have confused commissioner mclean even worse, he might have wondered how us stupid hunters would know whether we were hunting deer, or turkey, or bear, or whatever else is printed on the tag, and I am not sure the tag doesn't list any units, does that mean we can hunt them all, or we can't hunt any. I sure thought they were run better when commissioner Melton ran things. -

I was glad they were prepared for the archery overlap change and had the alternatives already on the overhead so that they could show the commissioners what they could do if directed. To me commissioner hernbrode had the aproach that you asked for it and you are going to get it, I will show you, commissioner mclean even mentioned that himself, thank goodness level heads prevailed. Commissioner Melton will surely be missed, I doubt he reads these forums, but if he does I want to thank him for all he has done over the years for Arizona hunters and wildlife. -
Jim if I see ya , you might need to move your left leg back just a bit, and hold on to the hat.
