    draw results

Here's a twist on this issue...I got my results over the phone Sunday Night - I didn't draw skunked all around. Just for kicks I check online and I shows I drew my first choice antelope hunt. I don't know what to think. Should I just wait to see if I get a tag or a refund back. I really want call G&F but I'm sure they are just going to tell me the phone is right and online is wrong. The uncertainty is killing me. What should I do? Print the results and wait, if you don't get the tag you call and complain. You have proof you were drawn online, and delete this post, because you never called the number you only checked online with positive results.

  3. I seen it this morning and knew right away, but I still sent the body of your work in email to a few people I know that didn't get drawn. They called as soon as they seen it wanting to know what happened. My youngest daughter wasn't happy this morning either, her 7th birthday is tomorrow and I had to mess with her a bit.

    Muzzleloader help?

I asked specifically about modern smokeless powders and this was the response. "The definitions are what they are, and I tend to interpret these as written, but can’t guess at how other officers or the courts will interpret them."

    Muzzleloader help?

Mr. Gaines, Thank you for contacting the Arizona Game and Fish Department with your question. What follows are the rules that define a muzzle-loader. If a weapon is capable of firing fixed ammunition or does not have a single barrel and single chamber, or is not loaded through the muzzle with black powder or synthetic black power or a single projectile then it is not a muzzle-loading rifle or handgun. So if the weapon you are considering cannot fire fixed ammunition, has only one barrel and one chamber, is loaded through the muzzle with black power or synthetic black powder and a single projectile then it meets Arizona’s definition for a muzzle-loader (these rules are not applicable to tribal lands). R12-4-101. Definitions A. In addition to the definitions provided in A.R.S. § 17-101, R12-4-401, and R12-4-501, the following definitions apply to this Chapter, unless the context otherwise requires: 14. "Muzzle-loading handgun" means a firearm intended to be fired from the hand, incapable of firing fixed ammunition, having a single barrel and single chamber, and loaded through the muzzle with black powder or synthetic black powder and a single projectile. 15. "Muzzle-loading rifle" means a firearm intended to be fired from the shoulder, incapable of firing fixed ammunition, having a single barrel and single chamber, and loaded through the muzzle with black powder or synthetic black powder and a single projectile. R12-4-318. Seasons for Lawfully Taking Wild Mammals, Birds, and Reptiles A. Methods of lawfully taking wild mammals and birds during seasons designated by Commission order as "general" seasons are designated in R12-4-304. Restrictions designated in subsection © do not apply to general seasons. B. Methods of lawfully taking big game during seasons designated by Commission order as "special" are designated in R12-4-304. "Special" seasons are open only to individuals who possess special big game license tags issued under A.R.S. § 17-346 and R12-4-120. C. When designated by Commission order, the following seasons have specific requirements and lawful methods of take more restrictive than those for general and special seasons, as prescribed in this Section. While taking the species authorized by the season: 1. An individual participating in a "muzzleloader" season shall not use or possess any firearm other than muzzle-loading rifles or muzzle-loading handguns, as defined in R12-4-101. *************************************** Responsive Management Coordinator Arizona Game and Fish Department 5000 West Carefree Highway Phoenix, AZ 85086 *************************************** Stay informed on topics of interest to you by signing up to receive Arizona Game and Fish Department newsletters http://www.azgfd.gov/eservices/subscribe.shtml. Muzzleloader help?

There is a muzzleloader by Savage that shoots smokeless powder, I think AZ just states muzzleloader, some states have other rules on powders and the types of projectiles. I will see if I can find it in the regs. I was really considering the Savage as my next firearm purchase. I sent an email to AZGFD with the question and will put the answer up when I receive it, maybe Jim H. (deernut) might know the answer. http://savagearms.com/muzzleloader_home.htm

    Officials euthanize AZ jaguar

Thanks for clearing up a few things, we get people that like to come in here and say something to stir up trouble and disappear. I look forward to hearing from you in the future as well. I am one who questions the AZGFD on a lot of things, but on this I think they were correct, I even sent them an email asking why and explaining my concern, I received a response that answered my questions. I feel like they are the ones catching all the flak on this when they were the only ones willing to take the chance to do something that hasn't been done in the states and I applaud their efforts on this. I truly hate the entire wolf project and have let them know that as well. Audsley I seen a few of those responses too, and in simple terms they piss me off.

    Amanda,

I was doing a google search on that date and this was one of the things I pulled up. I didn't really know what it was, but I thought you might be interested to know it was able to be googled. I can't tie that date with anything that sticks out to have the most users online. Thank You Amanda for the website and the information it provides.

    BEWARE back sliding O

Just a quick note on any issue when you are sending an email to a Rep.. Some of the representatives have a zip code entry that sends you to the correct Rep. for your district, if you intend to send that person the email I just put in the zip from their AZ office and it allows you to complete the email.

    Officials euthanize AZ jaguar

It looked like he asked a simple question to me, you weren't going to answer it anyways. All you want is to stir up trouble, I would love to hear what you think should have been done, what is the quercus Jaguar plan.

    Officials euthanize AZ jaguar

Well said audsley; after reading that I think that the decision made by the zoo vet was probably the best one. He was the one who was there, I think from the standpoint of the vet and the zoo they were in the best position to do whatever was needed to help the cat if that was an option. I criticized AZGFD and the whole thing in the beginning, but the more I read about it the more they are justified, not to mention that they do have the Jaguar team, and spend money on their study because they care.

    The Draw System

I waited ten years for my first elk tag, after five years I decided that I wasn't putting in for any cow hunts, it sucked every year to hear not drawn, but once I did get drawn I apply according to the odds kind of. I don't mind hunting cow elk or limited opportunity hunts, and if I didn't get drawn I would possibly buy one of the over the counter elk tags, no matter what I get to hunt deer with my bow, and am guaranteed a tag in Oct. for coues. There may be a better system, but I don't have any great ideas to fix it. Thank you Doug for the info.

    Amanda,

Ok I am searching this a bit, and right now I have found few topics on that day. Commissioner Martin was being discussed as a new commissioner, Scotty and his wife were headed to Africa, Standman was having a birthday, and little else that I can see. I gooogled June 26, 2006 coueswhitetail.com and found nothing that would not why there were that many posts that day, but Sacramento and Beyond has a link to coueswhitetail.com on their blog. From the blog though it was dated 2-11-2006 On to Lake Patagonia where we ran into a birder heading out who had seen the Black-capped Gnatcatchers, but the sun was getting low and the bird activity was slowing down. We had seen a pair of Black-capped Gnatcatchers here in 2/03, but I was hoping to get photos. Also, a female Rose-throated Becard was supposed to be in the area, but hadn't been reported for a week. This is a species I've missed in Arizona despite a couple of trips in breeding season. A Streak-backed Oriole was also reported in Patagonia, but it was quickly getting dark. We missed our avian targets, but enjoyed watching the tiny Coues White-tailed Deer (more info--note that this is a deer hunting site, but has interesting biological info on this sub-species: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/coues_biolog...es_biology.htm). There were also cattle in the area, including a small calf with the rich baritone "moo" than would do a full-sized cow proud. It followed us around a bit. by Chris Conard I don't know where this came from Amanda but it might be interesting to you. https://coueswhitetail.com/plesk-stat/webst...age_200506.html https://coueswhitetail.com/plesk-stat/webst...6.html#DAYSTATS

    Amanda,

Was that the year the results were delayed due to the USO lawsuit, or when the extra tags were issued for non residents. I think those issues were before 06, maybe it was Lark's birthday.
