I'VE BEEN ROBBED!!!
KGAINES replied to hunterdude's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Was it down south, maybe an illegal or group of illegals that were caught on film and thought they better not be identified, or it was just somebody acting stupid and then got their picture taken and didn't want nobody to see, not illegal just stupid. One of our southern neighbors just might have thought they were being tracked or watched, but didn't want to steal your camera, heck they might have thought it was the governments. In any case you still have your camera, and you can take more pictures. I agree that if somebody just wanted to steal the film and had to cut the chain, they would have stolen the whole set up. -

That sucks I would be pissed, did you say all they took was the film, at least they didn't take your camera, maybe they did something bad and were caught on film and didn't want nobody to see them. I would set up a second camera and aim it at the first and maybe they will come back and then you will know who it is, or you will have two cameras looted. It does suck that in this day and age you can't trust anybody. Good Luck and God Bless -
Maybe this will help. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...MainCatcat21412 http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...0161&hasJS=true The second link is just the street legal kit.

Those are some great deer and sheds, I am no expert, but I say coues.

"They should be referred to as the whiny little stinky long-haired tree-huggers." I agree, but the minute most of them get off their soap box they jump in their hummer/SUV and drive home to their million/ multi million dollar houses and figure out ways to screw people out of more money and even if they don't they are still whiny little stinky long-haired tree huggers.

I was asked a question today that I never thought of in this way. We were discussing hunting and other related topics when I was asked whether I was an environmentalist, I said no freaking way, then I was asked, are you sure, don't you take care of the environment, I said that I probably had more respect and took better care of the environment than any of the wackos that claim to. Then it was brought up did we give the term environmentalist to a group of wackos that don't deserve that title, or is it self proclaimed and thus makes it a bad thing. I said that no matter how you look at it hunters and fisherman take better care of the environment and the wildlife than any self proclaimed environmentalist. Do you guys have any thoughts on this, are we all environmentalist, we are just hunters, fisherman, and outdoorsman too.

Those are some great sheds, no wonder so many people want to hunt down there.

KGAINES replied to Dodger2's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
E-mail it to Amanda, she will post it for you, there are also some guys on here that can probably do it for you. -
united states outfitters, they sued az and got the 10% cap lifted last year, they have sued a few states, the lawsuit was montoya v az, and uso is owned by george taulman and are out of new mexico montoya and taulman were behind the lawsuit, I think that is the short story, do a search on uso or taulman and you will get the rest of the story.

Yeah Casey, but you can tell your story and feel good about it, and you also seen some great country. Something close to the road isn't a bad thing and I wouldn't turn it down, but it's nice to know that you guys worked for what you got. Good Luck and God Bless. -
I AM PISSED OFF!!!!
KGAINES replied to azcouesandelk's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
This time of year I would get up early and hunt dove before going to school, I would then put the shotgun behind my seat and I had a little ice chest that the cleaned dove would stay in till school was over, I wasn't one of securities favorite people at school so I can imagine what would have happened if they had found that, I walked through school every morning with bloody hands and talked to some of my teachers about how many I got. Those days are gone, a kid now would face more charges than he would know what to do with, and he would be portrayed as a potential murderer and his parents would be questioned on whether they could raise their kids right. -

I am glad you got it taken care of, at least she admitted she was wrong, congratulations on your win. I got pulled over a few years ago on my way home from kickboxing at about eleven oclock at night and it was raining, it was a monday in january, I was in my truck, had a couple of arrows still in my truck, a couple of knives were still back there too, as was dried up blood from a deer that had been in the back of the truck, the cop pulled me over for a license plate light being out, he checks my license, registration, and insurance, he walks back up to my truck and asfs if I have any tattoos and if I have been out of the country recently, I tell him no to both, he tells me to roll up my sleeves, I roll them up, all I am wearing is kickboxing shorts and a white t-shirt, he tells me to roll them up further or take my shirt off, as another cop car pulls up I take my shirt off, no tattoos, the other cop is searching my truck, asks me why I have knives and arrows in my truck, I want to tell him that I am an indian and my horse broke down, but I explain that I just got back from hunting, and I am getting ready for a kickboxing fight and didn't have a chance to wash my truck yet, he tells me to get the knives and arrows out of the back of my truck because somebody might get in there and hurt themselves, I tell him that no one should be in the back of my truck and if they get hurt it serves them right, he tells me to put them up, I put them behind the seat where he told me too( concealed weapons ), I am freezing at this point and I ask what the heck is going on and why am I being treated like this, the original cop tells me that a flag popped up when he entered my info on the computer, he said it could be height, weight, hair color, general info that might cause this flag, I said well did it ask you to look for tattoos, he said yes the person that they were looking for had tattoos, I said since I didn't have any why all the extra crap, he said he just wanted to be sure, at this point he hands me my license back and my ticket, and says I am free to go. I thought at one point that I was going to jail for who knows what, and I have never been in trouble in my life. Bass, I know how it feels, the cop never asked why blood was dripping out of the back of my truck. The ticket was 130 dollars and no way to fight it. -
God Bless our troops out there hunting terrorists and protecting our country, they and all of those before them are who allow us to live and be free in this great country.

Carrying a handgun while archery hunting?
KGAINES replied to Whitehntr's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I would think that most wardens would understand, but you would still be breaking the law, if they wanted to ticket you then you would go to court and show the statistics of the amount of people crossing the border daily, including the amount of people they find dead in that area, you could even get a border patrol agent to testify on your behalf, I think a jury is letting you off, depending on the judge it could get thrown out. I have not heard of a hunter shooting any illegals, during archery or rifle seasons, have you, I think most hunters allow them to walk by without being noticed or try to avoid conflict, we are usually looking for something else. Scottyboy in your opinion would you hunt down south during archery season without a sidearm, just curious, and if you can't answer that I completely understand. -
http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/news/article.ad...906080909990008 "About 1,400 children are killed by firearms each year, according to CDC estimates. It's not known how many of those are killed by guns left around the house, the researchers said."

Great job, any archery coues is a great trophy.

"It's not known how many of those are killed by guns left around the house, the researchers said." That quote makes the whole survey crap, but they still throw it out there like every one of the deaths was from a loaded gun in the house. How many of the 1400 were doing something illegal like breaking into a house where somebody shot them protecting their family. Our media sucks.
-
They would never report that though, it might mean that guns are ok.
