    Thieves suck!!!

That is by far the funniest quote I have read all year. Remember he went back with bolt cutters so it was not like he did not have time to think about his act. In the month that goes by he will probably steal other peoples cameras as well, so do your fellow sportsman a favor and post the pic. By the way, if he was a low down thief I doubt he would be a member of this site!

    Post pictures of your trips

I enjoy Rocky Point as well and as of last year love San Carlos. Here is my Pinto Bass that I caught last year in RP.

    You guys won't believe this..........

While I was reading your story I was fully expecting to hear of a sighting of the elusive Chupacabre. I guess a jaguar sighting is sort of cool as well

    Taxidermy

I have used them on a bear rug as well as an elk. In all honesty, the price also made me nervous especially on my elk. I am happy with the work they have done for me and have no complaints. I know a bad mount when I see it but I am not a connoisseur of taxidermy work so I will admit that I can not distinguish good work from great work.

    crummy dads

I believe I saw a video on this for sale at Cabela's. I think a cow elk was used as the subject. I too have always been interested in this method but the diagrams I have seen always leave me with a question or two.

    Garmin Stinks

I also would be curious what you did as I have a Garmin that does not power up. My customer service experience was about the same as yours and just decided to buy a new hand held as they are priced fairly reasonable for what I use it for. It is also unfortunate as I really like my Garmin products as I have purchased a number of them that I depend on for my boats as well as my land unit.

    San carlos BEAR

I had a B tag about 4 years ago. It was a great but hard hunt. I definitely did not see the number of bears that I see in the Fall. My biggest concern was the weather. Worried that they were still hybernating or if it has been warm, they are out and have been rubbing. I saw a "mohawk" bear that was about an ugly as a bear you would ever see. He was rubbed on both sides and long along the spine giving a mohawk appearance. Anyways, I finally tagged out on a nice bear with a great hide on my last day. Buy a Mountain Lion tag if they do not give one to you if you do go.

    Archery Proficiency Test????

I did not mean to turn this into a hijacked bash ATV thread. I use them as well and they are great getting you in on an area on a boulder infested road. However most of us have seen people use them in manners that make us shake our head in disgust. I would like to report that on my Muzzleloader elk hunt recently, people used them as they were meant to be used. Hopefully, sportsmen are learning to keep them on the roads. Back to the topic. As a new archer. I am a geat shot when shooting at a target. Hopefully, when I see a nice species that I am hunting with adrenaline flowing, etc, I just hope that I am half as good as when I practice in ideal situations. Therefore, I doubt a proficiency test would be worthwhile.

    Archery Proficiency Test????

I'd rather see an ATV proficiency or IQ test.

    How REAL Men Hunt!

I am thinking his arrowhead would be scratching up his fender by the way the arrow is placed.

    My first robin hood

The first one is always exciting. Kind of like a certain archery accomplishment. However, after that you realize it is costing a lot of money it loses its glory really quick after the first two times. You realize that you never shoot the same spot twice.

    Best arrows

I am a Blackhawk fan myself. I have missed and have had some solid hits on a block wall and they survived fine. They along with my Switchback shoot better than I ever will.

San Carlos Fall Cow Elk Hunt

I did this hunt a few years back when I was not drawn in AZ and I was having withdrawal symptoms. I went on the dry lake unit. You would think this would be a slam dunk hunt but it was not. I did a little scouting and thought it would be pretty easy. Anyways, If you talk to either the biologist or a ranger they can also give you ideas as well on areas to concentrate on. The locals that I ran into on the rez offered up ideas to go. They were about as productive as my own ideas to hunt but nonetheless they appeared to be helpful. If you had the dry lake unit, I could give you some areas.

    San Carlos Spring Bear?

Spring bear is a tougher hunt in comparison to the other seasons. Several years ago I bought a tag for Spring Unit B. I saw very few bears in comparison to what I saw in the fall. I actually only saw three bears and one of those was across the river on the White Mountain Apache side. One particular bear was rubbed real bad so it was done hybernating for quite some time. That may be the case this year with unseasonably warm days. I did eventually get a nice bear that had a fabulous hide. It was one of my more enjoyable hunts and would love to go again but the wife does not really want to look at another bear rug on the wall. If you want to PM me, I would be happy to look at a map and tell you where I had the best success for seeing bears that may assist in your scouting efforts. Also, get a lion tag.

I have not been so fortunate in 24A. Two days and not a single pig sighting.

San Carlos tag fees way up

I feel slighted, I thought I provided the economics lesson

San Carlos tag fees way up

No, I believe it is due to basic economic principals of supply and demand. If the tags sell out quick each year, expect future increases as well.
