Pops and I had a great time as usual. We spotted a herd Friday evening after sunset and weren’t sure where they bedded. On Sat morning we set up across the canyon and was able to find them bedded and made our move when they got up to feed. Pops harvested his first muzzleloader javelina at 60 yards. We spotted another herd but I had to go back in town for my daughters bday party. Sunday I picked up my buddy and we rolled out early and met pops at his camp. We located a new herd going over a mountain and no luck relocating them again, in this unit we’ve glassed herds in the past moving over 1000 yards from bedding grounds to feeding grounds, crazy. We then went to another spot and after 2 hours we glassed up a herd moving it’s way to bedding grounds. After a 30 min hike over some mountains, found myself 138 yards from the nearest pig and sent a 50 cal sleeping pill his way. This makes pig #49 and #50 for pair of us, pretty stoked to make our batch of jerky.

Quick spot this morning, had to deal with wind changes and pops ended it with a 23 yard shot. The kid got to watch it all over his shoulder.

Nearly zero moisture over the summer. Population size is roughly the same as usual in the unit.

For the early Nov hunts I like to go help my buddy Nate, we always have a great time chasing bucks in the hills. We looked over and passed up 19 bucks and got soaked on Saturday. When the rain cleared at dusk this buck was located and we quickly closed the distance from 1100 yards to 185 yards. Nice tall, long tined buck

We had a wonderful time, chasing big bucks on Friday and Saturday with some bad luck with closing the deal. There was always something spooking the bucks before we could get a shot off (gunshots, hunters walking nearby or predators pushing bucks away). We knew Sunday and Monday were going to be rough with the wind and weather. Sunday morning standards were lowered and we watched coyotes chase this buck, he finally settled and bedded down. We stalked in for a single shot at 255 yards. This is her smallest buck 😂

I was a college intern that drove bucks accidentally harvested during the jr hunt to a processor in Flagstaff, always wondered bout the guts.

Any idea what AZGFD do with the gut piles that are brought back to them?

I’m a teacher. I didn’t walk for red for Ed. I don’t get half a year off. I coached 3 sports for a while, now down to 1 sport. I don’t get paid much, I do more for my community than most people. Tons of teachers are ready for in school teaching, I sure wish Combs had real teachers.

Polaris Ranger 500 EFI with 5030 miles plus trailer for $5000 obo, cash and trades are welcomed. The ranger is in great working order and the trailer is a tilt trailer. I’ll get the pictures loaded shortly.

Looking to sell a great running ranger with a tilt trailer. Oil has been changed every 500 miles along with regular maintenance. No mechanical issues, ready to run and hunt. Has a brand new belt installed. The ranger has a rack on top of the trunk- easy to remove and add. We put a tool chest in the back and it has a lock so you can secure valuables. Trailer is a tilt trailer, much easier to use than a trailer with a ramp, very easy to haul and move around. The ranger and trailer track real well on the highway.
