  1. One of my old teacher's kid shot a lion up on Mount Ord last year. He brought some of the meat in for a BBQ we were having. I couldn't believe how it tasted.
  2. Oh yeah, my boots! I too bought a pair of the Pronhorns. Best boot I have ever bought. Infact I just put a new sole in them last weekend, and now they are even better. They are like wearing a good pair of tennis shoes now. I love those too.
  3. Worked Badlands 2200 pack. I love this pack! It is the first real hunting backpack I have ever used. You see, each year for as long as I can remember I would hit up Wal-Mart when all of their hunting stuff goes on clearance and would buy the "Hunting Backpack" for $5. It never failed to happen, the next year I would need to buy another one because something would rip, snap, or magically weld the zippers shut. I'm sold on their packs. Super Carbon "Hunter" arrows. This is the first time I have used the new carbon arrows. I tried to use carbons a long time ago, and hated them. So this year I decided to try them again. I noticed tighter groups the first time I went out to shoot them. I am sold on carbons now. Yamaha Rhino. Sunday night on my dad's Elk hunt after dark we ran into an older guy with a downed Elk with no way to get it back to his camp. We helped feild dress it, then tossed it into the bed of the Rhino. Going up hill with a gutted Elk in the bed didn't bother it at all. That was cool, so cool I sold my quad, and we picked up another one. Did not work Wal-Mart water bladder. I bought one for my dad because it was cheap, and he needed one for his pack. Huge mistake. The hose screws into the bottom, see where this is going? After any kind of movment the hose will unscrew and leak bad. Go with a true Camel-Bak water system and you will be much happier! Trying to pull off two hunts in the same week. My dad's Elk hunt up in 6A fell on the same weekend as my Coues hunt in 32. Trying to switch off each weekend to scout each unit hurt both of us bad, we both struck out. The only plus was that since we were hunting in the middle of the week, there wasn't the large crowd I was so use to; although we ran into Redman out in the middle of nowhere.

    bigger and better

How do you guys choose what area you want to clean up? Does the owner of the area (surounding areas?) contact you guys or what? We are also trying to get a group together to head down to the Mercer Ranch to help them out a bit.

  6. I tried that for the first time last year, man was I tired afterwards! Every stick was a monster rack, and every tree held a secret that was hidden away. I was more mentally tired than anything, but finding the next one pumps you up again.

    Rangefinders

I think for bowhunting it would be fine! I use Bushnell yardage scout for archery and it does just fine. It only goes out to 500 yards, but the last time I took a 100 yard shot was.....well, I have never taken a 100 yard shot with my bow.

    Javelina hunt

I can't help very much for your particular unit, but from what I have been seeing in the last two weeks, you need to find some water. The three herds I have found have either been in the water, or on their way to the water. Both at around 11 o'clock or so. Good luck!
  9. Ouch. I had a computer that had some kind of trojan horse program that my virus and spyware couldn't find, it would reconfigure my computer when ever I tried to update the backup files. And since the computer would do it on it's own, I would come home and have to redo everything just like you are doing.
  10. I've always wanted one of these.... http://www.bowseye.com/product_specs.html
  11. I think for most guys MS Paint would be easiest. Just open your photo in paint, then look for the text option on the far left. If I remember right, it should be an "A." When you click on that "A" it will also give you two options a little lower on the tool bar. It will be a solid box, and a dotted line box. You will want to choose the one with the dotted line, so that the text appears to be in the photo instead of in a white box on top. Then you can just click anywhere on the photo and drag another box (No selection is needed once you click the "A") you can now make the box as big or as small as you want. Then you type what ever you want, then click OUTSIDE of the text box to set it on the photo. If you need the box to be bigger, just click on the corner of the text box you drew, and drag it out bigger. I know this photo is heck-a-small, but it's the only way I can get it to work. I hope you can make it out.
  12. There was an older white F150, looked like a work truck, that chased me down a while back. They were pulling out of a parking spot, and let me go by first. The next thing I know they are flying through traffic, got next to me, and rode there. My first thought was "What the heck did I do to piss these guys off?" I looked over, and they both were waving like mad, then sped off. The truck had a small CWT sticker on the drivers side bottom. This was near Warner & Country Club (Arizona Ave). I'm behind a firewall right now, so when I get back home, I'll post a pic of my truck. Azhuntnut, I'll get ahold of you soon.
  13. I saw one, but it doesn't count since I already knew they were a member. David, that is one good looking truck you have, I wish I would hurry up and get mine jacked up a bit. You said you knew of a good shop who lifts?
  14. I know that all of you like to be out in the field on the weekends, but if anyone is looking for a way to kill a day with the family, come on out to our military vehicle show at the end of this month. There will be all kinds of vehicles including true WWII jeeps (both Ford and Willys) HMMWV (Hummers) Unimogs, Pinzgauers and a lot of other interesting vehicles from all over the world. Bring the kids, I'm sure you all will enjoy it. Saturday & Sunday January 28-29 8:00am-5:00pm 52 Street & McDowell, Phx, Arizona. (At the National Guard Base) BTW look for my jeep, or my dad's jeep while you are there and stop by to say hello! Here is my 1953 M38A1 And my dad's 1942 Ford GPW Here is our club website armytrucks.org

    December Unit 31

Great job! I don't know about your phone but on mine, you hit send (like sending a text message) then select your e-mail (which you have added like a normal contact) then send it. If you want, PM me, and you can send the photo to my phone, then we can get some photos! -Kenny

Heck, I have an archery tag, bear tag, lion tag, and general tag in 32 to deal with. If any of you have a good recipe I think I can alone end world hunger!!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

Our Christmas tree might as well stayed in the box, there isn't anything under it! We all picked out our own gifts, no use in wrapping them when you already know what you got.

    5BNorth Late Bull

whew! At first that looked like "my bull" that I have on film. I also love 5Bn for hunting elk, it just offers to many unique areas to hunt.

    Javalina Trail Photos

Wow, salt would be the last thing I would think a pig would come into. Very neat photos. I loaned my camera out to a teacher today so he can put it up at his cabin for the weekend. The place is great! He has four coues doe that will come right up to the porch and stare at you. Of course you are not moving, blinking, or breathing. But if you move, or talk, they will run to about twenty yards from you and just stop there and look. No bucks that he knows of, so we're going to put it out to see if there is one coming in at night. I'll hope for the best!
  23. Pretty cool! I have some slip on slippers that I bought on closeout for about $4.00 or so. I used them while walking on slate last week, and was really surprised at how quiet I was being.
  24. maybe a horny toad! It's too small to be a coues! We found this shed at the very top of a mountain, under a tree. Most of the credit has to go to Redman, because with out him, we wouldn't have been up there!
