    CHECK THIS OUT!!!!!!!!!

mountain man, I have heard of people doing like you do. I have also heard of them showing up early (maybe like thursday) and actually digging a hole for their clothes to sit in until Friday. I tried a similar approach, I put my clothes in a large garbage bag, and then put some dirt from my hunting area in the bag too. For the entire week before the hunt I just give the bag a few shakes, and let it sit some more. But I have no idea if it works or not. What else do y'all use? I use somekind of scentless soap, and also use a cover scent. I think I will try a leaf suit instead this year, but it will not have the little scent lock logo on it, as that add another $40

    CHECK THIS OUT!!!!!!!!!

So I spent $9000 on an outfit for nothing. This makes me glad that those prices kept me away.
  3. Thanks for the help guys, this should help my case about 200%
  4. I need to show a guy on another forum that a deer can actually jump the string. I know there is a site out there that has one of these clips on it, but can't find it. Does anyone have a link to one of these clips?
  5. I was just wondering how many people actually carried a video camera with them while out and about. I know I carry a small Sony Handy cam (huntin' cam) that was chewed up by my dog, so it no longer has an eye piece, but still has the fold out screen. It isn't the top of the line, but works, and I can put the tape into my Digital handy cam to transfer to the computer. I have since gave the Huntin' Cam a O.D. paintjob with a simple camo pattern and can't wait to catch some action on film. So who else carries a video camera? And what kind?

    arizona draw

To those who have had their checks cashed, when did you drop them off? I was one of the few who waited until the day they were due, to go down there. I didn't just do it once, but twice since it was so much fun the first time. Good luck everyone!
  8. That is a fine looking pup you are going to have. You shoulf be proud

    Great bull

he looks smaller in that pic. I would almost drop my score back down to very high 200 on just that pic. That doesn't mean I wouldn't take him.

    Great bull

I too would guess very high 300s, 380 sounds about right for me.

    Great bull

How exciting! Any one who put in up aroung Blue Ridge should have a very good hunt. I can't remember what unit that is in, but over the weekend I saw two or three bulls that would score around 350, and those are just the ones I saw in the middle of the road. I tried to put my camera up in the area, but after hiking for about an hour, I thought I had found a good secluded spot. As I was putting it up, I heard "What is that?" I turned around, and saw a family on bikes. I'll now do a shout out to the Wilson Family, you scared the heck out of me.

    Hunting Partners?

Ooh that's still a soft nerve with me. I took one of my buddies to one of my favorite spots. This kid gets lost if you made four left hand turns in a row. So I told him I would take him to a spot I like to hunt for pigs. I took him up there, got him a couple shots, and he had a pig latter that day. A month later I'm up there and see a signal mirror hitting me. I glass it and see that kid! He hid his GPS in his pack, and had a map from the Circle K in Florance right to my spot. That was the last time I have hunted with him.

    Hunting Partners?

After last years coues I was ready to START smoking. I was hacking and choking all the way to the top of the hill with the deer, while the smokers were already there. My hunting partner is either my dad, my sister's boyfriend, or one of my buddies. I only have one good friend that actually hunts and knows what to do all the others just follow my lead. (Which isn't to smart either.) My partner and I ussually hunt together, or with in sight of each other. Our camp is pretty rough also when my dad goes. He brings the 25 foot long toy hauler. That just about ruined me for camping. But when any of my other partners go, we just sleep in the back of our trucks, or in a little tent. I like the DVD player idea though. On my coues trip two years ago my dad and I bought over $150 on food, and other snacks. We ended up driving back into town each day for breakfast, and mexican food for lunch and dinner. That was very rough.

    best coues hunt

I too shot my first coues in 2003. Ever since I can't get enough of these desert ghosts My dad and Ihad just gotten off of the quads after riding up a trail on a mountain. After three days of hard hunting, and not seeing signn of life anywhere I wasn't too worried about throwing my last day of hunting away (not normal for me at all!) We looked around, noted the beautiful sunset, and headed back to the quads. That's when I heard rocks falling. We walked to the edge of the road and started looking. We saw nothing, unitl we looked 200 yards below us. There stood one lone Buck and four doe feeding in a small opening. I ran back to the quad, which was up hill. Then back down. I was laying on slate, and couldn't move to get relaxed with out making noise. I finnaly just stood up, and moved over five foot or so. I then relaxed, and squeezed. When the gun went off, I raised my head, released my breathe, cycled the bolt, and went to look for a possible follow up shot. I didn't realize that I had fogged my scope to the point I could see nothing. When I looked up, I saw the buck thrash, one last time, then jump behind a rock. After we got to him, we learned that he only ran 15 yards, with a hole through the heart ( ) I love that 3x2. Then last year in the exact same spot I shot a 2x2 that is just a bit wider than the one from '03. As we were gutting last years, we caught a glimpse of a very nice 4x4 that made my heart flutter. I hope he made it through the season.

    Sunrise 3D shoot

I have a few questions. I was told that you shoot from the chair, as you go down. It now seems that you walk down, makes more sense to me, but do you shoot directly down hill?

    Bow slings

Okay I just broke down and bought the sling made by Primos. After walking around the block with my bow, I have to agree with their ad and ask "How did I ever do it without one?" I think I'm hooked. I can't wait to try it out in the feild this weekend.
  22. Post a picture (or a few) of your hunting partner(s) and give a little about them. This is Charlie. A two year old Chocolate lab, that has nothing but ball on the brain. He aslo likes swimming in anything that he can get into. "he's one bad mutha!" I'll have to upload some pics of Buddy, and Sasha in a little while, in the mean time...Post 'em if ya got 'em!
