Ok kinda funny story. ( not including the part about my buddy's brother dying) So my hunting buddy's brother died a few months ago. Sad story. Any I had been to his brothers before and knew he had a bunch of hunt toys So when my friend said the son of his dead brother was going to sell the quads for real cheap to people that knew his dad. I was fortunately in line. I had remembered seeing the and knew on was a polaris sportsman and the other two looked like the same but I never really saw them. So I got the call yesterday. He said hey if you want one of the quads you can have the one that won't start for $300 I asked what kind. He said I have no idea. I thought $300. I can go wrong. So I agreed When he pulled up yesterday my heart. Yes my greedy heart sank. Roketa. What the heck is that? But there was a polaris on the trailer too. I said to my buddy. Hey which one mine? He of course said that one pointing to the Roketa. Ugg. Ok it was still cheap. So it's apparently Japanese. Thank God. I was a fraud Chinese piece of shoot. It actually. Looks decent. 400cc 4x4 carb pull start disc brake tires good Anyway. Any know about these things? Any have advice on repair? The battery works. And electric comes on. But first issue. Pull cord has no resistance when pulled It is full of gas. I assume i need to drain and clean. And clean carb Here are some pics.

Ok so. I mentioned im a mechanical moron I took the pull cover off and could see there was some rust issues on the spring load teeth that engage the starter so i cleaned rust off and oiled and got them to operated. I put back on and the pull cord engaged started but didnt stater. But great cores soon So as i was messing around with the choke and throttle i saw a little red button. Hmm what's that? Oh. Electric start. No way. Still wouldn't start but fired. So i trickle charged and it fired. Thing runs great. Adjusted the idle. All gears work 4x4 engages. Has reverse Is street legal. All lights work. I have let it run. And turned it on and off over and over and its fine. The pull start even works Here is my one question. Its oil cooled and has a radiator with a fan. But the fan never turned on No blown fuse and the temp light never turned on all other lights work Is there anyway to test that the fan is operational?

Starter not engaging at all. Engine not turning a bit. Zero tension on pull. When I drain fuel. Where do I take for disposal? Is there a way I can then flush tank and fuel system. I'm obviously a mechanical Moron

Arrows seem to be angling to the right on target
apache12 posted a topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
So I'm a novice bow hunter. This month I put an upgraded sight on my bow and I'm dialing it in best I can The arrows are grouping fine but the seem to be slightly angled right in the target. I keep checking to make sure I and the target are square. I'm afraid when I go to broad heads they will really fly crazy Should I adjust my rest by moving it toward the right? Is it worth going to a quality shop and having them dial me in? Thanks -

Thanks for all the help. I must say I think I'm more confused now then when I started. Ha ha. I'm going to take it to a shop Maybe I should try Junior at archery hw or Ross outdoors. I live by the shop on deer valley. Anyone know the guys up there? -

So I put a new weaver super slam 2-10x42 on a standard barrel 243 bolt action. Weaver bases and one inch low weaver rings. When I look through the scope I can see the last 3 or 4 inches of the barrel Is that unusual? I have 3 power scopes that don't do that. The scope is well clear of the barrel. I hate to put higher rings on it Doesn't effect the reticle it's just down on the bottom of scope. I have not sighted in yet but be even with that adjustment I can't see it raising that much By the way the scope is sweet. Very clear.

I have another set of bases and rings. I suppose i should throw those in and see

Here are some pics. I now the base screws on the rings are on alternating sides but I can't see how that would effect it The scope was new in the box from authorized dealer. The adjustment knobs are just normal knobs. They are like Leupold where you don't remove a cap you just pull up and make sight in adjustments and then push down. You can move the knobs back to zero after sight in Thanks for any help. It looks level

ideas on a rifle for my daughter
apache12 replied to 4Falls's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Tikka t3 7mm-08. I have one my 13 (now 15) has hunted with and my 10 year shoots it. Great round. Recoil just a bit more than 243. If cow elk is a possibility don't go 243. Tikka is nice and light for her to carry to. I took it on a pig hunt in txt and simply love the rifle and caliber -
I just picked up a weaver super slam 2-10x42 ebx reticle. Natchez shooters supply has nice deals on weaver Anyway I love vortex but I had my non shooting wife and my 17 year old son who is a hunter compare at 7:45 pm last night without telling them which was which or which was supposed to be better No contest weaver was brighter and clearer longer. Also the reticle didn't wash out early Again I love vortex but look for online deals on weaver. Only bummer is weight. A bit tanky. And warranty is average

Were you able to compare at low light? And was it viper HD? Thanks
