Why does hornady load data seem so much lower charge weight?
apache12 posted a topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I had been searching for nosler 115 partition bullets for a few weeks and got frustrated and bought some hornady 117 sst. In comparing the hornady load data with RL 25 to other manuals like nosler and comparing similar bullets like 115 grain nosler. The charge weights are really different. 67.8 max load for hornady while nosler goes up to 74 It is because of bc difference in bullets? -
Don't touch that rifle. I love the 257 wby First hunt I took this coues at 370. Dropped like a stone

Well done Bill. Thanks Big or Bust. Makes me feel better about loading a bit over hornady data. I haven't shot the rounds yet. But I'm well under nosler max load with very similar load data. Next I need to read up on sign of pressure. I've never i countered it -
Ernesto. Is that e cdl with 26 inch barrel? Do you handload for it?

So again I nor my boys pulled elk tags. This fall will be my last year to hunt with my 17 year old son because he will be in college the next year and is likely to be a college athlete who won't be able to get away during the fall I'd like to have a good hunt with him before he leaves for a few years He's harvested deer and javelina but no elk or antelope. Does anyone have any advice on either OTC or somewhat easily successful draw tags for antelope. I'm not a wealthy man but I can scrape up a few bucks for a hunt. Thanks for any pointers

Not sure if they would be called low or medium. They are stock optilink rings. Think 50mm would be pushing it. 40 to 44 ok Mailed for $5 They are black rings In north phx

Good buy. That's a nice little scope

Can anyone quantify the advantage of 50mm vs 40mm objective
apache12 posted a topic in Long Range Shooting
So if the field of view and power of zoom is the same for two equal scopes that only have a difference in objective size is their any studies on how much light gathering advantage a 50mm gains over a 40mm? For example do you get 10 minutes more hunting time or rather once sun sets is it better marketedly from then until dark Just wondering about things while I wait for my early bull rifle tag 😄 -
Thx. To rich for my blood

apache12 replied to apache12's topic in Long Range Shooting
Field of view is the same from 40 to 50mm. FOV is based on the mag side not the objective side as I understand Leupold spec show the same FOV from 4.5-14x40mm to 4.5-14x50mm -
22-250 or .243 for yotes and mulies
apache12 replied to AR15RDY's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
If you want both varmit and med size game it has to be 243. You can go from 55 grn to 95 grn in 243. Not sure the 22-250'has the bullet size range -
Seems market dictates a price change.
