  4. So I had one camera on a tank and as the water dried up and my camera was further away someone moved it to a rock that was closer. Thank you I suppose. Really funny though Then lesson learned. I had a spor that bear were in camera and I left it along for past 8 weeks. So excited yesterday to check it out Oops. Secure to a strong tree. The tree blew over two days after I hung it. Ahhhhh so bummed It was a really tall tree buy it was dead so down it went.

  8. so I'm intrigued by the accuracy from solid copper bullets like Barnes ttsx. So I thinking of loading up some for either my 30-06 in 168grn for an October bear hunt Or in 257wby 100gr for a November coues hunt I know shot placement is always key But assuming it's not a heart shot but say a lung shot and no bone contact at between 300 and 400 yards Do solid copper perform better on a tougher hide and skin animal like a bear. My fear on a coues is it runs straight through and maybe a long track is in order In. Looking at Barnes website it seems like most of their video showed African hunts

    Sierra gameking 6mm 85 gr hpbt $20

    Sent to firstcoues80
  13. So for some strange reason my kids Thompson venture will not load this well. Seems the rifle like ballistic tip Read my issue in reload section if you want too Anyway this is an open box of bullets. I threw two away so there are 98 left unused of course Paid $31 Sell for 20. Will ship for $5
  14. So I called sierra today and talked to the, about my issue They said that it sounds like the ogive is to high and the bullet won't feed well. He then said he wouldn't recimmend it for a hunt round but I had read it was good. Anyway strange issue. I ink part gun part bullet
  15. So is this rifle or bullet design I have a tc venture in 243. Nothing fancy but this rifle shoot so well it's just amazing I've always shot factory hornady sst or my boys have I should say. They've taken two deer and pig anyway I bought some Sierra 85 grn hpbt to load up my first hand loads for this caliber I measured the overal length with my hornady tool and the. Backed off .015 and .030 Loaded a dummy. Round to check feed from the magazine and when I cycled the round would hit the wall below chamber and stop I went and shortened and same thing I checked my factory sst and it cycled fine Is eared the siera the same length has factory and same thing it the wall I should say if I feed with out magazine all bullets fit fine they weren't to long So I kept shortening the Sierra and same thing. It's now rediculouly deep and I'm concerned with pressure difference I know the sst and Sierra have a different ogive and that's part of it but this is strange Should I avoid a max load a bullet seated so deep? By the way even with the seating depth in pic it has to double cycle bolt to feed
  16. I have not put a light in. That makes sense I will. I think the rifle is he issue. I had issue with it a few years back where the magazine would feed poorly. I sent it back for that recall and they corrected it The bolt is also a little stiff It's a temperamental rifle for sure. But of e seven rifles I own this one could be the most accurate with any ammo. I keep thinking i should sell it and then I shoot it and stop thinking that
  17. To confirm I pulld the Sierra bullet and didn't resize and loaded a hornady sst in it and it chamber perfectly
  18. So I just went a bought hornady sst 95 grn and loaded into e same set of brass that I loaded the sierra in and it cycles smooth as glass So strange I had trimmed and measured brass sized full length and the rifle will cycle ballistic tip fine and not cycle sierra hpbt
  19. I may not have described it right The cartridge doesn't ever make intonthe barrel The tip hits right below the barrel and stops I sized with a full size die

    Winchester m70 270win $450

I'm selling for a hunting buddy of mine who isn't on the site. He has changed caliber and wants to sell this rifle It's about 3 years old and has had maybe 200 rounds through it Good condition Synthetic stock but surprisingly solid feel for synthetic Shoots well. Ive seen him take to pigs at 200 yrds with Lil 110 gr 270 and last year a cow elk at 370 yrd Little barrel scratch on barrel as in picture. Otherwise good condition $450obo. He is in phx Pm and I'll send you his number his name is Don He is in a fishing trip sun-wed But if interested I can grab it and sell on his behalf I suppose
  22. So you guys know I'm new to loading. Everything I've read on 30-06 loads say imr 4350 at 57 gr or 58 in a 165 gr bullet is money load I've loaded hornady 165 sp and sierra 165 spbt. I've run from 55 gr to 57.5 at .5 increments The siera seem to group better and between 56 and 57 seems like my best groups but they are pretty average groups. One inch at 100. I've used listed col 3.330 and 3.340. They load a bit tight so I think I will use 57 grn load and seat bullet a little deeper Anyone have a suggestion on if I should try a different powder or just keep tinkering with this? It's a stock rifle and I don't expect magic groups but so far its grouping as well as factory loads and I think I should be able to reload better Thanks
  23. Cheaper and a fun hobby. And in e end I'll find the right load that will shoot the exact bullet I want better than factory.
