Looking to sell my Leupold VX-3 4.5-14 CDS scope, scope is in great condition, no scratches. Bought last year just wanted something with more magnification so I am selling it. Asking 450.

That's a very nice blacktail! A lot bigger then the ones I hunted on Sullivan Island! I do miss those six deer tags a year and not having to be draw for anything! I grew up north of Juneau, in Haines. If only I get my wife to move up there but at least I am planning a trip up there next year.

I have beed interested in picking up a pair of these new Ziess conquest but after looking throught them I noticed there wasn't an tripod adptor on the binos. I am leery on using one of those universal rubber strap tripod mounts. Has anybody have any experince using those kind of tripod mounts?

Ya one of the guys I put in with got the email just saying we got drawn for deer. Since I was on the same app just waiting for my email. Yup just got my email, got drawn for deer.

I called them up and asked if I got drawn and she told me the hunt number.

Yup already says I have a deer license when I try to add the private license to my cart. Haha haven't told the wife I even put in in New Mexico. Better to ask forgiveness then permission in my book.

Ya you have to pay up front for New Mexico but they will even refund your hunting license if your not drawn.

I am looking at getting a new scope for my rifle. I had a vx3 4.5-14 but I wanted some more magnification. I am looking at the vortex pst 6-24 or the ziess conquest 6-20. What are your guys suggestions? I have a vortex viper hs and I like it, so leaning towards the vortex now.

I did recover the bullet in the opposite shoulder or what was left of it. The bullet had turned into shrapnel instead of expanding and retaining its mass like the accubonds are suppose to do. What was left looked like the hornaday sst I use on deer. If I can find the bullet I will post a pic. Not too sure where I put it but the bullet dropped the elk on its tracks so what else could you ask for?

I use RL22 with 63 grains of powder, chron at 2830 and shooting 3/4" groups at 100 yards. Broke my elk's shoulder and destroyed the lungs at 112 yards. Dropped him in his tracks. Hopefully get to see what they do to a couse deer this weekend!
