  1. I like your style in rifles. I do have more synthetic stocks then traditional, do to the advantages with bull barrels and better ergonomics with long range shooting. You already acknowledge the down falls with wood stock, so its all good. I like my Kimber classic in 270 wsm. It shoots the 140 accubond really well and it is very balanced in my hands. The current Kimber offerings in wood stock is limited to what it used to be. I also have several Model 70s and 700s in various calibers but I feel the Kimber is a better looking and shooting rifle. They dont have the mass produced look to them.

  2. Keep the quarter bore going! I have a walmart adl getting a new barrel spun on in .257 roberts for my son. Plan on using 100 grainers to practice and take deer sized game with. No help with the 25/06 but I have found in my small sampling putting a new barrel on greatly increases accuracy. Those factory barrels are a crap shoot if they are accurate. I would rebarrel your 30/06 and stick a brake on it.

  3. I wouldn't count on it. Colorado had an increase in applications this year and their deadline was April 7th.  Nevada's deadline is tomorrow and they will draw on the 22nd. I think their application numbers would be a good indicator if AZ will have decrease in nr applications since Nevada also requires a $160 license fee if you want to earn points.

  4. I had arrowhead rebarrel my remington UML which is a short action 700  with a brux  barrel and install his ignition system. I use his bullets and size them to the barrel. The rifle shoots three bullets all touching at 100 yards, and around 2500 fps with blackhorn 209.  Let me know any questions you have about it.
