I ended up going with Seaforth a few months ago when I had the same question. It was a slow fishing day (they were on a hot streak the days prior and after it turns out), but the crew was friendly and overall a good experience. They do a lot of moving around looking for fish so you don't actually spend a lot if time fishing compared to driving around. I would book them again. The only draw back really was a couple other people fishing on the boat were rude but regardless of which boat you book you may end up with that issue. If I would do it again I wouldn't hesitate to try them again. For a little more you could do a small boat trip with Captain James Nelson. I researched him and he ahs great references.

I would like to try a little ocean fishing while in San Diego in a few weeks. I did a little online searching and for 1 1/2 or 3/4 day trip, it looks like you can go on a big boat with lots of people or pay more and do a small group thing. I was hoping someone here has had some experience on the short day fishing over there and could give me some ideas on what I should be considering. Also some sites say March is general poor fishing off of the SD coast, anyone fish this timeframe before? Thanks in advance.

My last boots were the Crispi Nevada's. Overall I would rate them as decent, but I can only compare to Danner, Lowa and Cabelas "pefeckt" boots. I would say they feel solid when hiking and not as noisy as some hiking boots (sole seems soft). They were lighter and easier wearing than my Lowas, but heavier than the Danner gtx I have used before. They grip well but are very slick when wet. The other drawbacks for me were how quick they wore out and the sole started separating within the first few miles and I had to glue them together more than once. Once glue they were fine, but not what I expected from boots at that price. I was going to try Kenetrek next, but I would consider them again if the price was right.

roninflag, I read that do to the ammo/powder shortage issues that happened last year that Federal stopped making it. That's why they are hard to find. I checked the internet pretty well including ammo seek and missed a place that had some (computer issues) and found 1 box available.

I shoot Federal 39 grain Blitzkings out of my 204 and they have become just about impossible to find. I was hoping to get some eyes out there that could let me know if you see them or if you know anyone willing to sell some. Thanks in advance for the help.

Selling a Leica 900 scan rangefinder in very good shape. Comes with the carrying case and original paperwork. Works great, no issues. This is the model from a few years ago, but what's really nice is the scan feature which continuously give you ranges as you pan around. Asking $300 tyd.

Lots of people on that hunt for sure. I would suggest going on the Boquillas Ranch. First it is half of the unit and most of the prime habitat for elk. Secondly, it seems from the early hunts that people are genrally not paying the extra fee to hunt it and concentrating on the Perrin Ranch and Kaibab National Forest parts. There were a ton of people hunting the archery hunt off the Boquillas. As for areas on the Boquillas, look around the edge of the Aubrey cliffs north of Pica Camp and around Rose Well/Mt. Floyd.
