Growin' Bone - Aug 3 Mr. Massey Returns video
huntlines replied to sneekfreak's topic in Elk Hunting
That is a toad. Looks like he about walked over the top of you.......... -
I have always shot vortex but they are not on your poll!
-
I had another trail camera taken. This time they used a cordless grinder to get to it. I am going to set up other cameras in the area and hide them so the next time I hope to post their pictures for all to see!

Irregardless to the fact I win or loose the theft charges, I will be overjoyed to just plaster their faces all over every hunting forum I can find. Don't bother to reply about law suits for defamation or any other stupid civil crap. I can post anonymously from any number of public computers. I'm sick of this crap and if more of us start doing this I believe this will slow the theft down..........

We will see............. Video will be all the proof I need, trail cams do that sort of thing. As for the question of finding an officer who will actually charge the scum, well I have that one covered too. Usually cops take reports ,write tickets and make arrests based on evidence ... A complaint would be filled out by you the victim and this is the process that would bring charges to a person that you write the complaint against. So you are the one bringing "charges":.... Yes the state can and does "pick up" cases and file their own charges but it would be highly unlikely the state would get involved prosecuting something like this unless it involved other more serious charges! The burden of proof woulod be completly on you to prove the loss , the value, ownership and all the other details like the exact location where the crime occured , the exact time, who put the camera there , pictures of the site before and after the alledged theft ect the trail of evidence has to be bullet proof sorry to say video and pics of some guy picking up a camera is not enough yes they are great to have but not enough to win a case like this .... Don't get me wrong I would love to see you prosecute the person who removed your camera from where you left it out on public land unguarded for extended periods of time! Yea what i am saying here probably P'S you off ..... Bottom line is it'a public land it's no different than if you mounted your trail cam on a tree in a park in downtown pheonix and came back two weeks later to find it "missing".......Now go find a cop who will thow the "theif" in jail... You may be the one who gets arrested for placing suspicious devices in a public place!

Small town where I live so chances are we are going to know who this person is. then I can give the information to the deputies and have them go talk to them. Virus on the SD card......hum that is a good one!
-
Ha I like the gun powder idea. Not enough to kill him but enough to send a clear message! I'm going to have to figure out a way to try that.
-
Yep.... also looking into this as well but first will try the seperate camera set up. I don't want these guys or guy to see the camera and recognize it is a two part system and then back out. I want to catch this scum!
-
To answer some of the above questions..... No it isn't unit 27, although unit 27 is bad for this type of thing too. It wasn't the FS because they would have taken the lock box with them. When the FS comes in and takes things they cut locks off and take everything. No this person(s) cut the lock box itself and made it worthless then just took the camera.

I just can't stand it! I can't wait for the season to open and my son is the one with the tag!
-
I'm still tryin to decide for my son to shoot 270 or 300 short mag?????? Have killed a lot of elk with the 270 with 150 grain.....
-
Looks a lot like a bull I have seen in my sons unit. I kinda hope your clients miss this year too so my son can put him on the ground opening day of the early rifle hunt! Great bull
-
It sounds like a better solution then would be to move the deer draw in with the Elk and Antelope. This way people with the early Kaibab hunt and early deer hunt would have plenty of time. The cc thing is going to be a slow process even if they only run the card one time.

I don't get all the fuss???!! I think we have been spoiled with quick results in the past and I know it drives me crazy until I find out. Even if the results are not posted until mid August it isn't a big deal. I'm sure some of you want to know before archery season opens for deer, but really, your probably still going out archery hunting anyway. Just take a deep breath and relax. Go out shoot your bow, rifle, or sling shot even. Have a cold one and enjoy the summer. Draw results will be posted soon enough and then we will either be drinking in celebration or depression.

I think the cards are done but what don't make sense is I put two of my kids in for pig and in a unit that always has left over permits....... still no hit on my card for pig tags????? Strang, not that I'm upset with that we already have enough tags to keep us busy.....might be a blessing!
-
Sweet sheep tag Tony! Good luck, I hope you kill a monster.
-
Yep, mine got hit today for the kid's. Lucky turds all have elk tags and now they have deer tags too. Wonder what they got......
-
My 17 year old has an early rifle bull tag in unit 27. I have not had time to get up there yet and do any scouting. Looking at hitting it hard starting in August but am curious to know if large portions are still closed? Has anyone been up there recently? Would like to know how it looks up there and what the road conditions are like. Anyone been down in the blue river area? I know the rains have started in and it should be greening up....... Thanks in advance for any information,
-
Hope this guy makes it another year or two because he will be a toad. He has the same genes as a buck killed near by a few years ago had that went 118. His eye guards are all broke off but then again this picture was taken in Feb........ This January I hope he puts on a lot more mass and a little more length. We will see........

finally got through and my wife and daughter got november rifle unit 1. So I will be chasing elk at the end of september with my son (early rifle bull) then in mid october with my youngest daughter for cow and then again in novemebr with my wife and oldest daughter for bull! I think I will have to charge them a guide fee!
-
Well my dad got through finally and I know my son drew the early rifle trophy bull tag for 27! Stoked! Since then we have not been able to get through! My wife and oldest daughter were drawn but I have no idea where yet...... will keep you posted. I know my 12 year old drew a junior cow tag. No three in a row for me on archery..... bummer.... guess my sons early rifle will help me deal with depression!
-
Sorry for your frustration, however I know guys with 19 points for elk and my dad has 20 points for antelope and they can't pull tags either..........
-
Results will probably be posted Tuesday morning sometime. IMO

No credit cards only get hit if you got drawn. No refund necessary if you didn't. The only way you get a refund is if you put in via paper/mail/check.
