I'll call seconds on the Berger 210 VLD's, if for some reason it doesn't work out.

I'm sure everyone's foot is a little different, but for me it took changing out the factory insole and a lacing technique to make my Crispi Nevada's fit like they should. When I bought mine at Ross the guys there showed me some different ways to lace them that actually made a difference to the way the boot fit (at least for my feet). Might be worth a trip over to Ross to have them show you if you're not too far away. Overall they've been very good boots for me. Hope you find a technique that works.

Not sure if it's what you want or if it's cost prohibitive, but some fabric stores carry foam pads that could be used as a sleep pad. I purchased some from Jo Ann's Fabric last year for reupholstering some seat pads on benches. As mentioned already, a topper might be cheaper if you aren't looking for anything too thick.

Just wanted to share my recent turkey success. After striking out earlier in the morning with a couple of uncooperative gobblers, I decided to try a different spot in the afternoon. I made a big loop in some country I had hunted several years ago, stopping to call every so often. After no responses and not seeing any sign I decided to make my way back to the truck. I stopped to take a break and sat down on a log when this Tom came in silently on the same path I had just been walking, almost like he had been following me. A couple of really soft yelps got him to stop and investigate. He jumped up on a downed log 20 yards in front of me and it was a done deal. Earlier this year I was able to pick up a box call that was made by the late Marvin Robbins. I figured it would be a cool piece of Arizona hunting nostalgia, and was excited to try it out on this hunt... guess it did the trick. 😉 Good luck to all those still out hunting and those with upcoming tags.

Very cool footage of the fly down!

Not from the spot that I was sitting, but about 400 yards back. That's a very interesting concept about their sense of location. Makes me wonder how many turkeys I've missed out on in times past.

Sadly there are chinese knock off Leupold scopes out there. If you google "counterfeit Leupold scopes" you can find more info. As always, beware of things that are too good to be true.

Located in Maricopa. I occasionally make it to Chandler and Queen Creek if that helps anyone.

I'll call seconds, if for some reason joohnybgood doesn't take it.

This is from my Berger manual. Mine is dated 2012, so not sure if there's more recent data or not.

Tried to send you a PM, but got an error message that you cannot receive messages. Maybe your inbox is full?

One is the HDX and the other one is prior to the HDX designation, (probably 10 years old). Both have been great.

Another vote for QAD. I've used them for years without issues. I personally like having the top bar above the arrow rest that contains the arrow. Some other drop away rests don't seem to have that. I've found it useful when trying to position for a shot around trees and brush when you've already nocked an arrow. Don't want the arrow getting pulled off the rest by a tree limb.

Has anybody used the Gunwerks branded brass? From what I've read on the internet it seems that ADG makes it for Gunwerks, but was just wondering if anyone has had some first hand experience with it. Looking at some for 300 Win Mag. Thanks

I bought a couple from amazon last week. The cheapest was Silver color for $26 each. Not sure why, but every color is priced differently on Amazon.

Anyone have suggestions on new 5 gallon gas cans? I need to replace some old gas cans (plastic has gotten brittle and about to crack), but the new gas cans I'm seeing all have some sort of cumbersome safety nozzle on them. The last 5 gal can I bought was a joke. You have to hold down a lever to make the gas flow while holding the can up, and has a vent in the nozzle that doesn't work very well so the flow was a trickle at best. It took about 10 minutes to empty a 5 gallon can. It seems like buying a gas can ought to be a simple thing, but trying to find some without the safety nozzle is proving difficult. Does anybody still make a gas can with a regular nozzle?

I have a Traeger 22 that gets used on a regular basis and I'm quite happy with. Haven't used the other brands mentioned so can't comment there. I recently had to replace the hot rod ignitor on mine and while looking at replacement parts I noticed that some parts (auger motor, hot rod, air fan, etc.) were interchangeable with Traeger and some Pit Boss models. I'm sure there's exceptions out there, but it surprised me that the components are interchangeable. Makes me wonder if there's much difference between brands.
