Thanks for all the info. I'll see what my doc says at my next follow-up. And I didn't think about it but checked regs and crossbow is good without permit for HAM tag I just drew.

Anyone have any specific info or experience with crossbow permits you could share? Having shoulder issues with a "no more shooting" order until resolved. Currently doing PT and expecting a few months before I can shoot again. Hopefully no surgery, but wondering if that would fly for a crossbow permit for January archery deer and javelina HAM hunt.

My Midlands allow turning off all the beeps except if the other end has a beep at end of transmission that comes through. I've turned that off on both of mine, but my buddy hadn't so I got beeps from him. Not a huge deal since I was using earpiece. As for everybody and their brother on, maybe we got lucky but found a channel/subchannel combo that must not be commonly used at least where we hunt.

Yeah I think most of the Midland have rechargeable pack but you can take that pack out and replace with regular batteries if needed. Hadn't seen the USB charging option...that's cool.

Huge thanks to the AZSCI folks for a great youth deer camp in 36A/B this weekend. Great setup and organization...lots of kids had a great time and some nice deer and javelina brought back into camp! My kids can't wait until next year!

Yeah I'm not sure you'll beat those prices without a lot of work finding a deal. But as already said be careful going too cheap. I decided to build mine instead and have had a lot of fun with it and learned a lot. Ended up more $$ into it, but I got what I wanted without upgrading later. Take a look at the Anderson's for $499...I've heard good stuff on their builds and the local shop here sells them for $599.

First time I saw it was on some weird video disc about the size of a record. I remember they were in a hard plastic sleeve. Don't remember what they were called. LoL

Brian Robinson at Robinson's in Tucson builds a good string. I know several folks who shoot his strings and I had him build one for me recently. Very pleased.

Definitely should think about replacing.

Bump for a nice rig. Will be in the market in a few years when we outgrow ours. Love the bunk beds and looks like a walk-around bed. 2 things I definitely want in our next one.
