Pretty sure someone was watching you...I've listened to radio chatter driving through some of those areas and there are spotters up high always communicating. One of my buddies spotted a couple of guys on top of a hill watching him...they were laying very low and still trying to not be seen. That said, just keep your wits about you and should be fine. They want as little to do with you as you do with them. Just try not to surprise any of them in one of those low areas.

+1 on the washes...my only run-in with illegals was on a stalk cutting through an overgrown wash. Heard voices and quickly backed out and went around that area. Unfortunately blew the stalk since we never saw the buck again.

Common sense goes a long way...I've hunted 36a for a couple of years but never camped there.

Not exactly fun. I had a stalk on a nice buck interrupted near there when we heard voices in one of the washes...not interested in what we'd find so we backed out and went around and lost the deer. Heading out in that area next weekend...how was the deer action?

It actually is simpler than it seems once you get into it. I applied for the first time to year with a friend who had applied before. They also allow you to apply separately but still mark your application as part of a group...so all of the group doesn't have to apply together. That seems to help with the group logistics.
