Borrowed from Lark by way of Casey... "don't get hung up on scores. get hung up on hunting." Lark

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that is one nice buck. Wish we had seen one like that!

Heading out late Friday for 35A. Four of us hunting and a couple this is their first deer hunt. (Scary thing I just realized...I have more experience than the other 3 combined and that's not saying much. ) Hopefully can get at least one of them a shot at a buck. No matter what happens we're going to have fun! Anyone else going out there for this hunt?

Had a great hunt in beautiful country. Saw quite a few deer and a couple nice bucks but never could get a shot. I needed the rocks in my pockets and an extra layer of clothes...it was windy and cold. Great time and can't wait for Dec 9 to get out there again.

Awesome buck and a great story! Especially awesome that Dillon is glassing up bucks for you like that.

4 of us will be out there until Tuesday night too...extra steak on the grill if you can find us. Good luck with your hunt...

Vortex 6-20x50 vs. Barska 8-26x 50???
bigorange replied to Gut Pile's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
+1 on both. CAn't beat the Vortex warranty and with a 300RUM you'd be good out to 300 with a standard reticle 3-9x to save some $$. -
Yeah...it's already blowing here in Tucson too. Great news on the glassing...hope we can get on them tomorrow morning.

Our First Coues Bucks
bigorange replied to CampbellsCouesAdventures's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Awesome story! Congrats to you both. Those are definite trophies and a great memory you'll always share. I can't wait until my son is old enough that we can share experiences like this. -
The day before makes for a long night.
bigorange replied to WinMag's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Today is the longest day...working and heading out to 35A this evening after work. Agree...it's like Christmas Eve to a little kid. -
Man it's tough to be working the day I'm heading out after work...still gotta pack a little too.

Dickmans in Tucson 520-885-8020 Not as convenient to 36B as WGP...depends on which way you're heading home out of Tucson.

Beautiful buck. Congrats!

Awesome first deer. Congrats!

Nice looking bucks! I hear you on the kids songs...have had them stuck in my head for the last 6 years. Now my kids finally like other music, but still get those kids songs stuck in my head on hikes.

Same here...have hunted 36a a lot and first time in 35a. Planning on posting pics and story even if we eat tag soup...

It's been a long day all week. I'm ready to get out there too, but not until Friday night. I'm heading for 35A. Good luck. -

Sorry if this has been discussed before...if so post the thread and I'll take a look. I've looked around but couldn't find it and the AZGFD info I found was confusing at best. I'm curious as to exactly how the draw works, taking into account bonus points and choices. I understand that the number of bonus points = the number of chances a hunter has to come up in the first round. But how do the choices work? I've read somewhere that in the first round only the first 2 choices count...is this true? Then what happens with the subsequent rounds? Seems like there should be a simple answer and I just can't seem to wrap my head around it. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the responses. I read the AZGFD info a while back, but maybe didn't read it thoroughly enough. The simplified breakdown by Sundevil and Red Rabbit really makes more sense to me now.
