I agree with Stanley. I haven’t hunted (or even seen) turkeys up there, but Oct deer hunt was a blast. The beautiful country is worth the drive, just don’t drive up there expecting to be in turkeys the whole time and fill several tags. I’m driving up there at the end of Sept for just one night…not hunting anything and it will be worth the drive.

That’s why a lot of folks (self included) used to put in for primo hunts knowing we could get a point if not drawn and get a leftover…those days are over by the looks of the list the past couple years.

Field & Stream Article on Arizona Trail cam ban
bigorange replied to SirRoyal's topic in The Campfire
My understanding is the reason most folks oppose the live view cams is that you could be in the area and immediately know an animal is in another location “now” and go after it. As opposed to knowing that an animal was in the location at some other time when you check the cam.- 74 replies

Lots of rain in SE Tucson and not the crazy wind from Sat night. Registered over an inch of rain over almost an hour. Hopefully not as much damage…we lost a lot of trees in the neighborhood Sat night. Lots of Palo verdes too as mentioned earlier in the thread.

Bumping this old thread…my friend drew this tag this year. Not looking for huge bucks, but any pointers on areas with higher concentration of animals for more opportunity. Already scouting, but slim number of antelope and looking for more areas to scout if anyone is willing to share.

Grand Canyon NP Bison cull impact on fall kaibab hunts?

They run back into the park with hunting pressure…maybe the opposite will be true. Keep dreaming and it might work and good luck! -
Other websites are fine but when I open CWT my Bluetooth audio goes silent like the website is trying to play something. Anyone else noticed this?

Hit play on the music again and came back to CWT and it’s fine. Weird.

iPhone. Now it seems a bit intermittent, but just now did it again.

Desert Bowhunting without the illegals

Depending on what deer tag we drew I might be around the Marley ranch too…will be in touch if so. -

Tell me more about this Tennessee bourbon…

Campsite view for the week. Watching whitetails wading in the edge of the water. I think I’ve seen more deer off the side of the road in 2 days than I see all season in AZ. My CWT handle is a clue of at least the state…LoL

TN is correct…by a lake. And the dog is very happy although she doesn’t like humidity. Not Percy Priest though. Woods Reservoir on Arnold AFB.

I know exactly what you’re after but not selling mine. Good luck! 😁

Thanks for sharing this write-up. I’ll take a good look when I get home and have time to digest it better

New recipe for me. Turned out great on the Traeger. Accidentally went to about 150 internal temp but it was a nice medium throughout. First time trying a compound butter recipe but won’t be the last. https://recipesworthrepeating.com/smoked-elk-roast/
