Pop-Up Campers, good or bad idea?

This can go down lots of paths...all true. LoL And yes the comfort of the trailer and bathroom was the selling point for my wife and keeps her going camping...

    Get those apps in

I’ve never noticed 2 general hunts in a row in Oct there...thought it was new but definitely a cash cow.

Pop-Up Campers, good or bad idea?

Exactly...camped next to a guy this weekend whose son works for Jayco. Said the same thing about shutdown and delays/shortages on new ones and I’ve heard the used ones are already moving fast thanks to quarantine and everyone wanting to get our camping instead of flying and staying in hotels. Of course that means a buyers market in a year or 3 when those folks decide to sell... some good deals on used ones out there...my friend picked up a nice pop-up on here a couple weeks ago and has been very pleased so far. my comment about growing needs from tent to fifth wheel wasn’t meant to say jump into something bigger...just be prepared that once you get started with trailers your taste and needs/wants may grow. Heck I’m already forming a list of wants for my next truck and trailer...that could be several years out. Then my kids will be older and my wants may change significantly...

Pop-Up Campers, good or bad idea?

Yeah if you want to save money get a bigger tent and some nice cots. We went from tents to travel trailer, then new truck, now 5th wheel...our family loves it. I’ve used pop-ups too and a definite improvement over our tents, especially just having a better place to sit to put on your boots getting out of bed...I hate waking up on the ground. For my wife, the biggest selling point was the toilet (even a cheap cassette toilet) to keep from having to go outside overnight...I can’t disagree with that logic especially when it’s below freezing out.

Stanley "Again" whats wrong with riots ?

Thanks for the explanation and reminder Stanley. I think we all need the fall draw to hurry up and get here (anybody know when they’ll start hitting cards?) and especially the fall hunts. Cabin fever is really getting to folks...

I do basically the same. Usually just plug it in overnight before I use it. So far so good.

    RV Batteries

This is exactly what a friend of mine does...I haven’t had issues storing mine with the kill switch turned off, but I think the battery tender is probably the best storage for the batteries.

Looking to buy a Propane Fire Pit

Picked this one up a few years ago. Very handy when there are fire restrictions...kept us warm one Memorial Day weekend near Greer in the 20s with snow and a fire ban. https://www.campingworld.com/camp-chef-compact-propane-fire-ring-w-toaster-forks-60218.html

    RV Batteries

Yep I added a kill switch as soon as I got my trailer. Between the clock on the radio, CO2 defector, and a couple other status lights. One of the best mods I’ve made to the trailer and saves a lot of headaches. If batteries are accessible you can just disconnect manually but the switch is handy and very easy to install.

    RV Batteries

Same here on the dual 6v...I don’t run the solar charger in storage but I have a kill switch to prevent any parasitic drain. Check battery water levels periodically and I make sure it’s fully charged when I store it. My buddy keeps a battery tender on his batteries but I don’t have easy access to power on storage so I haven’t done that. AGM is less maintenance and can be installed in different orientations and without ventilation so there are advantages. If money is no object check out the Battle Born lithium batteries...I know a few fulltime RVers who e shifted to those and have been very pleased.
