Unfortunately I too am in the same boat as you except I ended up having to move away from my hunting buddy's. New city, new state, new terrain makes it tough But, I became friends with all my hunting buddy's back home from archery shoots, gun ranges, and long range shooting matches. My advise would be join a archery or shooting club and I'm sure you'll meet some good people

27 is a unique unit. Great for coues, figuring out how to get around the private land to get into public land can be the issue.

Bad A** rifle!

I've hunted 23 for years and it all depends on the type of country you are hunting. The unit is very diverse, you can hunt the desert floor all the way up to ponderosa pine. Shot distances are what you make it shots across canyons can range from 300-1k+ or in the thick country can be less than 100
