What happened to this post? It's no longer in the thread. I was asked to remove it and since I posted it without Chris' permission I obliged and removed it. I think his partners at Elk Hunter Magazine didn't agree with his email and thought he should not have signed it as if it came from the magazine. It apparently doesn't represent the opinion of the majority of partners in the magazine. Sounds like its getting HOT in the the kitchen...

From some of the e-mails I got back from other representatives, they were surprised by the uproar over this legislation, as they had been told ALL sportsmen in AZ supported it. Thankfully, they recieved hundreds of emails against the bill and none as of today in favor of it. Im not holding my breath on these financial records, but if they are anything like your dancing skills, they will be all over the place...

The pain in my back from the knife Weiers has put there is still hurting... Weiers is not the only fish in the sea... and neither is AZSFW! BonusPointJohn, any luck tracking down those finaincial records, or board member names yet? Or are you too busy working on your dance moves?

I remember back when USO was trying to get landowner tags here, I helped pass out over 1000 boycott USO bumper stickers, and 250 boycott USO t-shirts. I might just have to get some "Boycott AZSFW" stuff printed up... Just last year, I was in NM, near Reserve, and saw one of the bumper stickers stuck to the back of a forest service sign... Damm those things last a long time.

I think we need to suggest to the sportsman groups that are members of azsfw, that they withdraw from azsfw. Obviously the azsfw is not looking out for the other member groups.

This is Classic! This also explains why Amanda is pushing the AZSFW propaganda in this topic. She never discloses in this topic that she is a Board Member, but instead Amanda says, "I haven't made up my mind either as I haven't read through the bill in detail." How can you be a board member, and havent read the bill, or have a opinion on the matter? the plot thickens.... Amanda and I are board members of the ADA... NOT the AZSFW... I am also a board member of the AZSFWC...Going back through the chain you will see where I listed the ADA as the group that I represent... Ok, I see that now. That makes more sense, because usually Amanda is upfront about things like this. Good to see I was wrong.

Actually, we do not get better attendance because of the auction tags. If you have ever been to a banquet, the really high cost tags are sold through a phone bidder. Since we are all 501C3 organizations and since no one gets paid as a board member, where do you think the money goes?... The ADA funded the 3Bar study, which showed conclusively and scientifically that predators were wiping out fawns. We helped fund the Kaibab study where deer were captured, studied, and data was gathered in order to better manage the deer across the Kaibab. Our group meets monthly and we try to inform the membership as to what we are doing and why. How many of you are aware that the USFWS is currently meeting in Albuquerque with plans to introduce more Mexican gray wolves across all of AZ and Utah and Colorado? Our board does a lot of good things which will go largely unnoticed. We do it because we care. We have never had millions of dollars and if you doubt that, check with Amanda, she is on our board and gives a lot of her time and energies towards that. The big money guys are not typically at a banquet. Sometimes they donate money to the banquet to help cover the costs. All the money from the tags goes back to the department... every penny. Does this help at all? BonuspointJohn, I think you would clear some things up here, if you would list your active board members (your web page is incorrect), and post AZSFW's finiancials, or a link to them. Come out from behind the closed doors, and show the hunters of AZ some real transpanrency.

Do you have any idea How many good things that Rep Weiers has done for us? By the way, the AZSFWC is comprised of 18 different groups, all sportsmens groups that have a vested interest and are willing to donate time and energies to shaping policy. The AZSFWC is the oversight group that was proposed for handling the monies from the Expo. If you are telling us to stick it where the sun does not shine, then you are telling all the groups that message. Hatred and anger are simply fear turned outwards. I do not know you, you do not know me. Why not give a little faith that we are not trying to screw sportsmen? Oh, I know! I was one of the people who warned against AZSFW when they started! AZSFW like someone else I know promissed us "Hope and Change", and now years later all the warning we had for hunters are coming true, I guess I can say, I told you so. The AZSFW has done more to benefit hunters than any other group in this state. Your commission is protected for years into the future when we have a democrat as governor. The $3.5 million dollars from the legislature 5 years ago when times were good is only because of their efforts. Please, let's acknowledge some of the good things that have happened. So your saying if a Turd has a couple of shiny pieces of corn in it, we should eat it? I'll pass! Obama has a couple of shiney pieces of corn too (Killing Bin Ladin, and getting rid of Kadafi), but I look at the overall picture, and I definatley am not voting for him.

Backroom deals, with no public comment, most of the other wildlife groups were left in the dark as well, and two of the G&F comissioners, Chairman Woodhouse and Vice Chair Freeman were conveniently left out of this as well... Ramming this thru as a "emergency bill", hoping hunters wouldnt find out about it, until it was too late. Now you ask me to give a little faith to you? If anything AZSFW need to apologize to hunters for the deception they have tried to pull over on us!

I saw the message, but the house members still need to hear that hunters are pissed off, in case SFW trys to sneak this again. We need to KILL this bill permenantly, no negotiating! I hope the other conservation groups tell AZSFW to stick it where the sun dont shine.

This is a very Bad idea! Sounds like a pay to hunt scheme... So we are suposed to sit back and be happy that guys with unlimited amounts of money can buy more tags, and we should be happy because the money will improve wildlife habitat! Screw that! I will build my own water catchments!
