Hunting to me is getting away from the hustle & bustle of everyday life & enjoying time with family & friends !!! If I see an animal that I like I will shoot it if not no big deal. I just like being out in the woods glassing up animals, scenery & taking it all in. Shooting & big bull or big buck would be nice, but i'm not going to be upset if I don't.

We use the same thing as a cook tent, we cut the legs down so the sidewalls are around 5". these things work great we put a propane heater in it & it keeps nice & toasty!

Any place you go where its OTC is full of people thats just the way it is anymore, but at least you will be hunting. OTC hunts are fun you just have to be in the mindset you are not goint to be alone!! Anymore its getting harder & harder to draw good tags so you might as well go & enjoy the outdoors & if you get an elk its an added bonus. Just my 2 cents.

i picked up a 2005 Jumping Jack for a good price & love it. The guy I bought it from had no clue what it was he got it at an auction.

Welcome to the site!! I must tell you have entered an addiction with archery that will haunt you!! I hunt with rifle & archery gear & I love both, but archery is an absolute addiction!! Like stated above don't over think it & enjoy yourself. Any camo is fine I wear stuff from Cabelas & Bass pro that was on the clearance rack. Sure there is better camo out there, but $200 & up for pants is ridiculous. if your going to be hunting early archery focus around water sources, late archery in January focus on the does & you will find the bucks. Good luck & most of all have fun don't put pressure on yourself!!!!

I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but wanted to double check. If you don't put in for any unit & just buy a bonus point do you get to keep your loyalty point?

Like Delw said above much easier places in the unit to find a nice bull besides Sycamore Canyon!!!

Pretty much any unit in the state would be good for a meat hunt. As mentioned above check draw stats on fish & game website lots of units you could draw with 0 points

I'm old school I use a compass & topo map. I carry a gps but rarely use it I like looking at the map
