I didn't draw either but my cousin drew early archery so we will be chasing bulls in September. I have spent a lot of time in this unit & can't wait to get in there again.

I'm posting just to vent my frustration. my dad & I both had 5 points going into the draw & we both struck out again this year. Today I find out from a friend he & his dad drew tags in the same unit we put in for with 0 points. this was their first time putting in for elk, I am happy for them, but frustrated they draw with 0 points & we strike out. Oh well I'm done bitching!! Good luck to all who drew & have a great season full of life long memories!!!!

Apparently some on here didn't understand my original post. I never once mentioned changing the way the draw is currently, or did I say anything about fish & game. I said I had 5 points going into the draw & struck out again this year. My venting was for my buddy who drew with 0 points. I am glad for him as I stated in my original post I am frustrated that he drew with 0 points, but again I am glad for him. I'm not whinning I will continue to play the game just as I do in other states until I draw. I also said good luck to those who drew. To the guys with multiple points I'm sure you fill a little frustration when a guy draws with 0 points. For the record I am not putting in for trophy units I put in for easier draw units & I put in for a late archery hunt as well. Some people on this site need to take a chill pill geesh!!!! I'm done with this thread & sorry if I offended anyone with my original post!!

I know we are only sitting on 5 points & others have been waiting a lot longer, I know its luck of the draw I just needed to vent to help me cope with having to try again next year (haha). I will still be chasing bulls in September as my cousin drew early archery, but it would sure been nice to have a tag in my pocket. Good Luck to all who drew!!

My cousin drew early archery bull. His card showed charges today. Looks like I will be chasing bulls with him in September! Its almost as good as drawing my own tag, but not quite haha.

I have the same rifle with xtreme hardcore gear 20moa base & 30mm ranger rings. I went with a vortex viper pst 6 x 24 x 50 mrad first focal plane scope. I love my setup its a little heavier than other rifles, but it works for me. Also have a harris bipod.

I have 03 f-350 4x4 with the V10 & 6" lift 35" tires. Love the truck, HATE the gas mileage also it rides like a tank. I will run this truck until the motor blows than put a new motor in & do it all over again!!! Fords are great trucks IMO!!! Do as suggested above & bomb proof that 6.0 and you will have an awesome rig!!

The NR stuff is very hard to predict with the changes made. Basically for archery you will be one of 1490 total people competing for 8 non bonus pass NR tags, its a long shot but because of the changes this year, you are not mathematically eliminated. For the late rifle hunt you would have likely drawn it last year but this year with only 25 tags in the bonus pass you will probably have to wait for the 1-2 pass where you should have about a 24% chance. There is 0 chance of you drawing that late archery tag as a 3rd choice. Resident Archery - 12% Late Rifle - 35% Late Archery - 0% Thanks Flatlander
