Hunted 17b for deer & Javelina & I have to agree with greyghost deer population in that unit is not as good as other units for the December hunt. They are in there just have to do your homework & locate them.

Didn't draw a thing this year anywhere so getting ready for otc archery gonna make the best of it, and enjoy every minute of it!! We decided to do a otc deer & elk hunt in Idaho this year also, never been hunting there so looking forward to seeing some awesome country.

Heading up Thursday morning & staying until the following Friday. Since I didn;t draw anything gonna make the most of this hunt. Good luck to all!!

With correct shot placement it would work, but why would you want to chance wounding a deer! Clean one shot kills, animals deserve that respect just my opinion. Good luck this season!

Helped a buddy out in 6a 2 years ago there are plenty of elk in that unit ! He missed a nice 6 point & it has been eating at him ever since LOL.

I wear rocky snake boots they are super light & feel like you are wearing tennis shoes! They might be a little hot , but would rather my feet sweat a little than get bit out in the boonies!!

Had a Remington express 30-06 my great uncle gave me, it was my first rifle. I killed my first deer with it the thing weighed a ton. I had to sell it 2 years ago to help pay bills when work was slow. It sat in the safe as sentimental value & hated to part with it, but you gotta do what you gotta do to make ends meet!!

I have a craftsman portable compressor I received as a gift years ago it fits under my back seat of my truck, and works great have used it on several occasions. I would check out Sears.

Unfortunately I live in California (only until my daughter graduates in 3 years than outa here!!!). I live in a gated community & have shot my bow in the back yard. I shoot regularly right outside the gated community in the desert & have never had any issues.

I think flatline maps has one for unit 10 their maps are escellent!!

Its a decent gun for the money, but it is basically an entry level rifle. It is comparable to the savage axis.

I carry 10s around my neck 15s & spotter in my pack, I use the all!
