I changed my existing duplex reticle to the long range reticle & the cost was $70.00. I went on Leupolds website to get info than printed out a service form filled it out with what I wanted done & mailed it off to them. If you send it in make sure to put insurance on it just incase something happens in the mail.

I can't begin to tell you how disgusted I am with the scum we have running this country. I could write a book so I will keep it short, we as Americans need to take back our country!! These scumbags in DC need to go & I am sorry to say it is on both sides of the fence Democrat & Republican!! We need fresh new blood in DC who actually care about this country & its future. The jerkoffs in there now only care about lining their pockets!! Obama is a disgrace & I can not even look at the guy without my blood boiling. I truly feel sorry for my kids & their kids they are going to really suffer if something doesn't change. The America I knew growing up is long gone & it is truly very sad what is happening!!

I got it at second amendment sports in California. I researched for almost a year before deciding on a savage. They are easy to get parts for & accurate shooters out of the box.

You can pickup a Savage 111LRH for under $700. I just bought a 300 win mag for $688 including tax & background fees. That is less than the one you are looking at in the classifieds & it would be brand new! Like greyghost said it comes with extras already installed.

I just purchased a savage 111 LRH in 300 win mag brand new for less than $700 out the door. I am in the process of a budget build myself I am putting xtreme hardcore gear 20 moa base & ranger rings for around $300.00 scope is going to be a vortex viper pst 6x24x50 around $950. So as you can see I am $2000.00 without any other mods. I am sure by the time I am finished building this rifle I will be around $2500 to $3000, and I think that is a realistic budget. Of course you can go a lot higher than that as optics can be a lot more than what I selected.

Thanks guys for the input. I appreciate it!

Ok so I have decided to put the xtreme hardcore 20 moa base on my new savage LRH 300 win mag & I am going to use there rings as well. I have decided to go with a Vortex pst 6 x 24 x 50 scope what height rings should I use with this setup low medium or high. Thanks in advance for any input as this long range stuff is all new to me & I am trying to learn & get the best setup for my first long range rig.

Hey guys I am just getting into long range shooting. I just purchased a Savage 111 LRH in 300 win mag & wanted to know what you recommend for scope base & rings. I haven't decided on a scope yet, but would like some recommendations as well. This rifle will be primarily for elk hunting with some recreational bench shooting. As far as hunting shots will not be taken longer than 500 yds, but would like to play around at longer ranges at the range. Any advice would be appreciated & thanks in advance.

God bless you sir & may your daughter rest in peace! Happy fathers day.

Well after kicking it around for almost a year I finally pulled the trigger & bought a Savage 111 LRH in 300 win mag. I will be using it for elk as well as some long range bench shooting. I researched several 300 win mags & the Savage had what I was looking for. When I get it all set up with a scope & bipod will post some pics, This is a fathers day present to myself. Anyone have any input on my purchase?

Sportsman warehouse sometimes has the Kodiak flex bow set up. Not sure of your needs, but the Kodiak 10x14 is pretty big inside. The walls are pretty much straight up & down which helps give more inside room. Good luck with your purchase.

Spend the extra money & get a Kodiak flex bow it will last forever if you take care of it, and easy one person set up!

Hornhunter makes a great bino harness comes in two sizes one for 10x42 & larger for 15x56. I have both it even has place to hold your rangefinder so it is easily accessible!

I know Redfield did go out of business, but Leupold bought the company couple years ago. Sorry to hear about your experience, I have had good luck with mine. You can't go wrong with Vortex they are a good company, good luck on what you decide.
-
Just curious Murfy did you have a bad experience with Redfield. I have not had any problems with mine. I do like vortex as I have binos & spotter from vortex.
-
Have you looked at Redfield Revolution? They are made in the USA by Leupold & carry the same warranty as Vortex. I have 3 of them & just ordered a 4x12x40 for my T/C 223. Excellent scopes that won't break the bank!

You should turn him in to Wyoming fish & game ! They will investigate it for poaching.
