Dipanddeer, The Easton bloodlines were 400s with 100gr muzzy shot from my hoyt faktor set at 63lbs. I put new strings on and bumped my draw weight to 68lbs & changed to the full metal jackets 340s with 100 gr. slick trick. Arrows shoot awesome my groups at 50 yds. are 1 1/2" to 2" with very little drop. I researched a lot of arrows & Easton work great for me & they are made in the USA!! carbon express are made in China

I was shooting Easton bloodlines with no complaints. Just switched over to Easton full metal jackets & still no complaints!!

Best advice is pick a unit & start scouting!! There are deer in all the units you mentioned above. The desert units are good during the January rut but you got to put in the ground work to find the deer. Water, cover, food etc. google earth is great tool as you can scout areas from your computer that look good. The key is scout as much as you can to find a honey hole. You will find most guys are not going to give you specific units, but instead give advice such as this. The units up north are good in September & the desert units are good in January you just got to pick a unit & start learning as best you can. If you don't find any deer or sign move on to another area & so on. hope this helps & good luck!!

Carson 3D ED vs Bushnell Legend Ultra HD

I would look at the vortex diamondbacks you can pickup a pair for $229.00 at cabelas. Vortex has the best warranty out there. -
I would take a picture of the dog, mount it on a plaque with the antlers and write a nice little story of how it happened!! It would be a great conversation piece for you and your buddies while having a few beers!! life is to short to even worry about him chewing on those antlers its just what dogs do and you have the memories of the hunt in your head anyway!! Nice buck nonetheless.

Great video congrats to the hunter on a fine bull.

I was in unit 8 for opening of archery deer had some idiot drive right thru my camp while I was out hunting. came back to camp in the evening to find tire tracks 2 feet from my truck it was so wet & muddy that weekend that he made 2 huge ruts about a foot deep and 20 yards long thru the grass. There wasn't even a road my truck was parked at the end of the camp site. I have no idea what this idiot was doing I inspected all my gear & tent to see if they tried to steal anything all was ok. The stupid part was my camp was about 60 yards off the main road.

I would call to locate them than quite calling & try to sneak in on them. Try to pattern them & ambush them as they head to their bedding area. Keep at it & good luck wish I had a tag this year.

That bull is a stud he would be great no matter how many elk you have killed. Congrats on a fine animal.

Lots of elk in blythe!! Put in for that unit its a tough one to draw. LMAO

Got my vultures in the mail from Cabelas today can't wait to test em out.
-
I just ordered a pair from Cabelas. There are a few reviews on them & they are positive. For the price you can't beat them. I know they aren't swaros, and I couldn't afford them anyway. Lots of guys will say save your money until you can buy swaros, but if your like me something unexpected always comes up that needs to be paid for so I would never be able to afford swaros anyway. I looked thru the vultures at Cabelas in Boise & compared them with the Kaibabs for me the vultures felt better and were easier to focus. Every guys eyes are different buy what you can afford and enjoy them that's my plan. good luck in your decision

Great job!! Sounds like you had a good hunt.

Hey guys I just bought some Easton full metal jackets at bass Pro that are pre fletched, and want to put some arrow wraps on them to give them better visibility. Will it change the arrow performance if I install the wraps right in front of the existing fletching? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Headed out Thursday morning!! Can't wait to chase some muleys been along hot summer!!
-
out2hunt what year did you take that buck in 16a? Nice buck for that unit they are far & few between.
-
You definitely don't have to worry about a honeyhole!! I have hunted this unit a lot the deer are in there, but it is a hard hunt!! Get a good map & find the water sources. Down by Alamo Lake there are deer, but don't get to high of expectations on killing a trophy!!!! If you want to avoid the crowded areas stay away from the Hualapies & Chicken Springs road, but there is a reason those areas are crowded that is where most of the deer are.

I saw some nice bucks around clints well last year during the the archery elk hunt.
