Hey Guys, Wanted to know who you would recommend in the flagstaff area for a good meat processor for elk. Have the late rifle hunt coming up and if lucky enough to put a bull on the ground would like to know where to get it processed. Also looking for a good taxidermist just in case. Thanks in advance for any advice and good luck to all on their hunts.

A 243 is great for deer. I would use 100gr. nosler partition or accubond.

IMO it is better to go hunting and go home empty handed than not go hunting at all. You will see some awesome country in colorado, and if you get a bull well thats icing on the cake. Good luck with what ever you decide.

What do you guys think about this unit? I have hunted elk in this unit , but never deer. I will be back in there this year for elk and thought maybe hunting deer during rifle season. Last year I hunted it during archery season, but it was mostly a scouting trip for my late elk hunt. I saw alot of elk, but not many deer of coarse at the time I was hunting elk so really wasn't looking for deer. I usually hunt 16a or 17b, but would like to change it up a little. I drew late rifle for elk and thought I could hunt deer and scout at the same time. Do the deer hang out in the pines or down in the junipers? Thanks in advance for any input

I agree with thom above why should you have to wait. It is luck of the draw. If you win the megamillion jackpot does that mean you should'nt be able to buy more lottery tickets for three years. Az has a good system leave it alone. If you don't get drawn keep putting in and hunt Colorado or Idaho with otc tag until you get drawn!!

Leave it alone!! The guys drawing year after year are probaly not putting in for premium units. Such as my case I am 2 for 2 I don't put in for trophy hunts such as unit 9 archery. That tag is one of the most sought after. I would like to shoot a big bull, but I would rather hunt more than wait!!
