That's awesome. Congrats. Adam is a class act.

Looks like an overall reduction of a couple hundred tags. That's progress.

I'm in. Hoping to win one of these things. -
Grand Canyon Tank area. Get high and glass, you'll find them.

I was driving to work this morning and saw something in the sky I thought looked like a missile. I was driving down Bell rd in Surprise by the 303. Here's the picture I took.

What a bummer. Good luck getting them back.

I ordered a new Sig Kilo2000 and got it yesterday. Upon first impression it's pretty sweet. I'm going to be testing it out and will post back with some thoughts. I might be selling my Bushnell G-Force DX if it's all it's cracked up to be, or the Sig if it's not.

So far my only complaint is that the battery cover screw was a little tricky to get on. So far in my limited tests against my Bushnell G-Force DX 1300 it blows the Bushnell out of the water. Readings are fast! Scan mode is awesome and updates very quickly. I love the display and how it dims or brightens automatically. The one down side is that it doesn't have ballistic data built in, but I never use that anyways as I calculate it separately. So far I am very impressed!

What a great first deer. That's going to be a tough one to top. Congrats!

Just checked my portal account and it now shows both my 12A Turkey tag and 17A/B Javelina tag, which were both leftovers. Sweet.

Just called and sat on hold for 45 minutes. I finally had to give up and get back to work. Ugh.
-
That is awesome! I hope to find one one day.

Mine's not showing anything and I sent mine in last Monday. Check hasn't been cashed either. Over 170 tags leftover for the hunt I put in for. I also wonder about the leftover tag list not being updated. Usually they update it daily the first week or two, this time around nothing.

Worth buying a pellet gun or hold out for a shotgun?
kazpilot25 replied to cwnova's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I recently picked up a 22 pellet gun for shooting pigeons in the backyard. I figured 22 wold be good because I can take it to shoot little critters like rabbits and such as well. Well, that 22 is WAY to powerful for backyard pigeon shooting. Get a shotgun. -
Congrats!

What a steal. Someone better jump on this.

Awesome!

Based on the armor I'd say they're 2 generations before, but I think only the armor and a new coating were added between these and the HD.

Great job. I watched mine bed down under a tree and disappear. After several hours of not being able to see him in the tall grass under the tree, I started to wonder if he was even there. Hard if not impossible to see those guys in that tall grass.

Questions about "locked" gate near private land
kazpilot25 replied to Richie's topic in The Campfire
Those land locked "public lands" are such a load of bull. Something needs to be done to allow us all access to that supposedly public land. -
I'm sending in an app today. I'm just putting my normal unit (that usually has leftovers) and hoping for the best.

Well I just got back from a weekend of hunting unit 10 with a buddy who had a late archery cow tag. This was my first time hunting in unit 10, so it was a bit of a learning experience. We got up there Thursday evening and headed out to the hills. It was muddy. Thursday I glassed up a total of 13 deer, but no elk. Friday morning at first light we glassed up a herd of elk at just under 1 mile out. There were a total of 2 bulls and 8 cows, which was perfect. We put together a plan and hiked in to them. We got to about 130 yards from where we expected them to be and sure enough they were right there feeding in the open. They were on the edge of some thick cover and working towards it. We decided we would loop out in front of them, and wait for them to pass in the cover. Bad idea. We looped a bit too far and they went behind us. We searched for them the rest of the day, glassing, following their trail, but to no avail. Saturday morning I woke up with a gnarly stomach bug and was down for the count. I was bed ridden for the rest of the weekend and that was the end of the trip for me. In total I glassed up over 50 deer on Friday, which I found funny as I've heard a lot of people say that unit 10 doesn't have very many deer. One herd I glassed up was 13 deer with at least 5 bucks. Interesting. Thanks to everyone who helped me out with some pointers on this one, it was much appreciated.

Apparently this is going to be complicated as they accept applications by mail Monday, but don't have a list of leftovers yet. Sounds about par for the course.

Awesome bulls. And everyone says those late archery hunts are for suckers.

I have the Sitka Jetstream jacket and use Under Armour base layers. It's great because there is no bulk at all and I feel like I can move easily and freely. Depending on which base layer level I choose, I can stay as warm as I want. I have only used the UA 4.0 once, and I got way too hot, and that was in 13 degree weather. I typically run the 2.5 or 3.0 in cold weather.
