That's a great story, Brent. Thanks for sharing. One day I would love to do a hunt like that.

Very nice. Congrats.

Congrats! Can't wait to see the pics and hear the story. -
Serious bummer. What is stolen out of your vehicle? I'll keep an eye out on craigslist.

I have the Havalon and the Outdoor Edge as well. Like others have said, the outdoor edge is much sturdier and just as sharp. I personally like the housing/handle of the Outdoor Edge a little better too. The Havalon is plastic, whereas the Outdoor Edge seems like a sturdy metal with a nice rubber finish. I like them both, just prefer the Outdoor Edge.

Ditto. Been pretty lucky I guess. -
Thanks for the PM's guys.

I have some questions for anyone who has experience hunting the northern parts of 36B. I've got the October hunt and I'm looking to try out the northern parts as opposed to the southern parts I typically hunt. I don't really want to post up the questions on the public forum for every e-scouter to see, so if you have experience with 36B, please shoot me a PM.

The areas I'm looking at aren't exactly talked about very often, unlike warsaw canyon, etc. I would like to keep it that way. Also, totally spaced and meant North/Northeast. Sorry.

I use a big buddy in my 10x14 kodiak attached to a 20lb tank. I keep it running on low all night long and it's so nice! I keep the vents opened and the windows cracked a little just to be safe. Never had an issue.

After reading about the chiggers and getting eaten alive by mosquitos a couple weeks ago while camping in 6A, I started looking into the thermacell units you can attach to your belt or pack. Has anybody used one of these? I'm curious if they work. All the reviews I've read seem to be very good, but I'd like a first hand experience from someone here if possible.

I had the same exact thing happen to mine. Fixed them for free.

I'm in.

Great to hear that they work so well. Mostly I'm worried about the flying little pests including mosquitos. Nothing worse than glassing a warm afternoon and having to smack your face to try and kill the little boogers. I just ordered one from one of my distributors, I'll let you all know how it works.

Ouch. I also wonder how you're supposed to check your arrows. Anyone?

Congrats!

WOW!! Those are amazing.

I've had the best luck with Varget in my 30-06. -
Good luck up there!

I have the Wilson booster I bought to use with my AT&T phone. When there is a slight bit of service, it works great to boost it to a usable signal. But with AT&T there is hardly ever a hint of a signal when you pull more than a mile into the woods. Can't wait for my contract to end so I can switch over to Verizon.

Do you agree with G&F forcing kids to take Hunter Safety???
kazpilot25 replied to Big Browns's topic in Youth Hunters
I'm in the yes camp on this one as well. I feel like all adults should take the class as well. What if the parent of a child never took the class, never read the regs, just picked up a tag and went hunting thinking they knew what they were doing and what was was legal. That same person brings their kid hunting and teaches them all the wrong things, but since the hunter ed class was not required, the kid has no opportunity to learn correctly. -
It's a fun little round. The savage B-Mag with the plastic stock had problems because the stock was so poorly made. I've actually sold quite a few rifles in the 17WSM lately and everyone seems to love it. It's definitely a fun little round to shoot.

I'm pretty sure the 12x9 sets up like a wall tent, whereas the 10x14 uses the flex bow system.
