What a bummer. At least you got to shoot at something. It would make sense to ban shooting them in the roost.

    Turkeys and rain?

So how is everyone doing out there in the rain and wind? I'm anxiously waiting for success stories and pictures.

    What is this?

I found this while doing some Google Earth scouting. This is in the middle of forest service land. Any idea what would cause these perfect square tree formations and the gap in the middle? Looks to be man made, but for what purpose?

    Unit 10 Boquillas

I just picked up a Wilson Sleek 4g brand new in the box from ebay for $75 delivered. There are deals to be had on there for the Wilson cell boosters. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

    Unit 10 Boquillas

It's my experience that Verizon is the best pretty much anywhere in the state. Every time we go out I never have service and have to borrow a phone from a friend to call and check in with the wife. I have AT&T, friends are all on Verizon.

    Turkeys and rain?

Came straight from the wildlife manager in the unit. I talked to him this morning. Said they were all congregated in the southern portion of the unit. He said he's checked tanks over the past week in areas further north that usually have good populations and saw little to no sign. I talked to a couple guys who hunted the youth hunt that pretty much confirmed it. Not sure if it's weather or what, but it's happening.

    Turkeys and rain?

Another question to think about is this… With the dry warm winter, I've heard the turkeys are mostly still in the lower sections or winter ranges. Will the rain cause them to move into the areas they typically are in this time of year? That is the question.

    Turkeys and rain?

Last year for opening day it started snowing up in 6A. Completely shut them up. I wasn't able to cut tracks in the snow in an area I knew they were, so I'd assume they were staying put. I don't really have any advice, just my experience from last year.

    Scum Bags got me!

I was wondering why they wouldn't just siphon it out. I guess it could be faster to just drill it.

    Building points for youth

At what age can you start putting your kids in to build up their bonus points? I have a 5 year old daughter and want her to have some good opportunities when she's old enough to hunt.

Will the turkeys still be there?

Oh man. I'm still 2 weeks out from my hunt. Hopefully they're talking again in 6A by then.
