I think I drew my first Turkey tag this year. I think it is in U7. I am surprised I didn't draw javelina though it appears.

Not moose, but my dad and i were almost run down by a group of cow elk in unit 27 one year. We were deer hunting and up on a finger. Another hunter must have spooked a group of about 12 cow elk. They came barreling up the side of the finger and were coming right for us. We started waving our arms and yelling to try and get there attention to not kill us. They slammed on the brakes and stopped about 10 feet from us, we were about 20 feet apart from each other. They freaked out being face to face with humans and half the group split and ran right between my dad and I, and the other half went to my right. I seriously thought I was going to have to shoot and elk to save myself. I had just clicked off the safety on my rifle when they jammed the brakes. It was wild.

Bloodiest would probably be my dads Winchester 1500 12ga. Hundreds and hundreds of dove have fallen to it. For big game would be my CZ 6.5x55. It has 1 elk and 2 deer on it.

Scout the elk the 2 weekends before your hunt. Try and find the elk during the weeks prior and identify what type of area they are in. Likely when you go on your hunt they will be in the same type of area or lower depending on weather and pressure.

Unless you are hunting areas that you know will be very open, I dont like 6x being my lowest power. Something in the 3x-4x on the low power is better IMO. You don't need 24x on the high range of power unless you are shooting 1000+ yards. My opinion but that's me. I would be looking at something in the 3×15 type power range.

Fire restrictions. Anyone else considering turning tag back in?

I would hunt it 100%. The hunting is the important part, not the campfire. -
Those are good bullets. We have a couple mule deer and a couple cow elk down with those over the last couple years.

Bang.bang.bang.bang.bang.bang.bang.bang.bang.bang.click.click.click.click.click.click. F*ck that. If I didn't have a gun, I would have been doing my best Nolan Ryan impression with some of those big rocks.

Sportsmans avondale had a bunch yesterday of some off brand from Spain. It looked good and was $3 per box of 5. I bought 5 boxes. They had probably 50 left. It was all the way up on the top shelf of the shotgun shell isle.

Hunt hard but dont pass on a good buck opening morning. I hunted 12ae early a few years ago and if I had passed the buck I shot opening morning I may not have gotten a shot after. Late is a little different but I wouldn't take the chance. My buck turned out to be about 167" which I am more than happy with. I had the smallest of 3 bucks at the check station when I checked mine in, but the other 2 bigger bucks were guided. Good luck on a great tag. Scout as much as you can.

The best time of year for SxS is usually around May when it is to hot to hit the dunes and people start dumping them. That didn't happen this year. We will see if the trailer prices drop in Nov-Dec like they usually do after summer and hunting are over. I won't be pulling the trigger in a SxS until the prices come down unless I happen to find the right deal.

Anything that has 4 wheels and can be tied to outdoor recreation is $$$ right now. Trucks, trailers, toy haulers SxS, etc. I honestly thought when covid started it would be the opposite because people wouldn't be able to afford there toys and have to sell them. I was wrong. We must have had a state full of "essential" employees because things just went crazy.

I was up it last year mid-October. It was fine except for the area near the bridges. Those had a bunch of loose rock stacked in the ruts. In a 4x4 it was easy, in a 2wd you would have been ok as long as you weren't being stupid. Other than that it was fine.

The family and I have started hiking on Sunday mornings to try and get more excercise. This weekend my wife was hoping to see some of the donkey's at Lake Pleasant Regional Park so we decided to hike Pipeline Canyon trail. 300 yards in with my 8 year old in the lead we find exactly what we didn't want, a 2' rattler crawling the trail too. I was right behind my 8yr old and yelled to stop and grabbed him. The snake went up to that little rock and curled up and got defensive. We backed off for about 5 minutes hoping he would leave, and when we moved back up toward him he decided it was best to get off the trail. We hiked the rest of the trail with no issues. The "floating bridge" must have been taken out by a flash flood because it was washed down river. We were 85% of the way done with the trail and had pretty much given up on the donkey sighting when I came around a corner and found these guys hiding in some shade.

Randall's had a 43x with teal frame last week.

Next if they all back out. My 8yr old would love this.

There are plenty of hunters that do this crap too. You can blanket statement it and say it is only non-hunters.
-
The best part is they are a bunch of cowards. They can try and bully a bunch of 5-10 year old kids to move, but once a grown man started walking over there to say something the left real fast.
-
Stupid people. We like to camp near forest lakes and the kids like to play near a water hole that is near a road. The tank has a berm on the back side that the sxs guys like to ride around on. Last trip out some SxS guys told my kids they couldn't play there and they needed to move so they could ride there. They literally drive last a sign that says no motorized vehicles to ride this berm. The kids piled a bunch of rocks and logs up on the berm after, and some jeep dudes came along and moved it all to drive the berm. One dude did drive his jeep through the water hole like you picture you posted but they caught his plate and were sending him a ticket. Stupid people think they can just do what they want, and dont respect nature.

That's a good deal. This is a lope and deer stomper for a great package price.

I never thought I would see the day when ammo for my 38 super was cheaper and easier to find then 9mm...
-
Casey's 100%. He has done several animals for us and they are great.
-
If you are loading for hunting rifle type calibers you can find supplies. If you are trying to load for 9mm or 223 forget it.

Try an appliance store or grainge. Azpartsmaster maybe. Most ac vendors like myself only sell wholesale and wont see to normal people.
