I am looking to upgrade the stock on my basic Weatherby Vanguard. Long action. I am looking for something upgraded like a Bell & Carlson Medalist, etc. Anyone have one laying around they want to part with?

My dad used to have 1 in 7mm mag. It shot well. The only issue with them is they are a little heavier than a bolt gun.

Fred was awesome. I heard that him and Chuck have both passed now. I knew Chuck since I was a little kid when my Dad and I frequented the Camelback store. I went to the CC store occasionally, so I bet we crossed paths.

I was at the Camelback store in '01 and again in '02 I believe it was. Glen was the owner when i was there. I worked with Chuck and Bob B. and Dave H. Was the manager of that store for at least 1 of my tours.

It is confirmed. The barrel is toast. I went to Axisworks today to get a muzzle brake for my dads rifle, and Eric checked it out for me. It has pretty severe fire cracking. Time to start saving for a new barrel, stock, and figuring out what caliber the next barrel needs to be....

Does anyone have a bore scope that I can borrow, or bring a rifle to you to look at the throat. I am concerned my 257 weatherby may be running up on its max round count. I am going to double check the scope and mounts and clean it really well, but I am afraid it might be time for a new barrel.

I see alot of the hunting show guys chambering rounds when they see an animal. Is that normal, or do you carry your rifle chambered with the safety on? Is it creative editing on the shows to seem like they are being safer, or do they really carry empty chambers?

I am surprised this hasn't sold yet. I want it because it is a cool round and a good price, but I have no need for the rifle. Someone buy this!

They haven't gotten any new snow since Friday. We were up there all weekend in Flag and came back yesterday. I don't know about that road specifically though on conditions. Things were starting to thaw yesterday some before we left. Take snow chains if you have them. They help a ton in snow and mud if the roads are bad.

Crispi. I bought a set last year, and they are awesome. I have the insulated Nevada boots.

The problem is how are you going to enforce the tag turn in program. Do you need a doctor's note to turn it in? Who is going to review the turn in requests. You can write rules on turning them. In, but good luck enforcing them.

I have 1/2lb of H4350 left from when I was using it in my 6.5x55 for load development. I think I am using H4831SC in it right now with the 135gr Bergers.

Seekins only built some Vortex rings, not all of them, and I am not sure they are building them any longer. I just ordered a set of Seekins 30mm for my dad's new rifle.

I wish my swede would shoot those LRX's better. It hasn't liked the LRX's or Hornady GMX's I tried to feed it. Bergers though, it loves bergers...

How many people are using spotting scopes during your hunts for glassing? I have a set of 8's and 15's I carry when hunting normally. I am debating on how much I need or would use a spotting scope. I know I would use it occasionally at the range, but I am not really sure I would use it hunting. Thoughts?

I have a set of vortex viper HD 15's. They are pretty good by my standards. They are not swaro but they work.

I am not a trophy hunter. I have not had a single hunt yet where I passed on any animal that was legal. Maybe someday if I draw a nice kaibab or bull tag I might get more picky, but normally any legal animal is going to be headed to my freezer.
