not drawn as suspected and semi-planned...

Late 80's/early 90's metal, some social distortion, dropkick Murphy's, Charlie daniels, some cypress hill, Johnny Cash, Bollox, everlast, some 50's & 60's rock, Garth, etc. My mix on Pandora is quite diverse. Above is just part of my current shuffle.

Happy 4th.

Hunt hard. If it is warm still you have a shot at catching bugles. Hit some bugles super early to see if you can catch some replies and get an area to strike off into before first light.

If you are local call Eric at axisworks. See what he can do. If that is out of your budget I would go 1 of 4 routes. 1. Explore the Fierce Carbon they have at Sportsman's. 2. Kimber if you are looking for light and off the shelf. 3. Something cheaper, but maybe upgrade the stock and trigger. 4. Cheap Ruger or savage in 6.5 CM and lots of ammo. Practice practice practice.

$2k rifle only, or does that include glass. I held a fierce with carbon wrap barrel the other day at Sportsman's. I think it was about $1800. It seemed to offer alot of the options a $2500-3000 rifle does. The question would be how tight the machine work was compared to a custom. If the total budget was 2k, I would be looking at an $800-1200 rifle with an $800-1200 scope.

Nothing here, but I wasn't expecting to get hit. We only put in for late strip/kaibab with only 1 point.

Cartridge of the Week: .243 Winchester

My favorite is 6.5x55 also. I do love my 257 weatherby. I don't have a 264 win mag...yet... Once the barrel on my 257 burns out, it may become a 264 win mag... -
Great scope. If it had the boone & crockett reticle I would be all over it. I have that version on 1 rifle, and love it.

Cartridge of the Week: .243 Winchester

I laugh all the time about all the people thinking 6.5 creed is so revolutionary. The 260 has done it for years, and the 6.5x55 has done it for 125 years. The only thing a 6.5 creed can do that a 6.5x55 can't is fit in a short action. So many good old calibers like 6.5x55, 264 Win Mag, etc are overlooked because they are not the new hot thing. Some of the old stuff is better than the new hot thing many times. -
I full length size because I own/inherited all full length die sets... I am no reloading genius but it has worked well for me so far.

.243 is a great round. My mom shot a Savage 99 in 243. Both the 243 and 22-250 share the crap twist rate that the won't stabilize the big bullets though that hurts them both from being even more popular. I have no doubt that a 243 would take care of an elk with the right bullet in the right place at a reasonable range, and is more than capable of anything smaller with plenty of muscle to spare. -
Call Randall's. I have 1lb, but that isn't enough to get you 200 rounds most likely.

Where are you?

Need Help Purchasing "Primary" Hunting Rifle
Hoss50 replied to rpowell600's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Left hand tikka. That is what I am looking at for my kids who need to shoot left. Theirs will be 6.5x55 most likely. 270, 3006, 308, any of the 300 mags, 6.5 creed, 7-08, etc will all get it done on anything in AZ. -
Yep. Permit otherwise it isn't legit when you go to sell.

I am going to try some 185gr Berger Classic hunters in my 300 weatherby. The 135gr 6.5 cals did great on 2 deer last season, so I am going to try and use the 185gr this cow elk season. I have a decent load worked up in my 300 win mag with 208gr ELD-M bullets. I have not put 1 in an animal yet though. For moose I would be looking at something a little tougher personally. Nosler Partition or other heavily constructed bullet.

The wife had a big pack of bacon she needed to use up so she did this for dinner. Jalapeno poppers, deer meat loaf bacon wrapped, and cauliflower with olive oil, parsley, garlic, and parmesan cheese on top.

Does anyone have a set of blued 30mm high rings for Leupold standard bases. 1 twist in dovetail, 1 with screws? I bought a set of medium and they are 1mm to short for my scope. I am in Glendale but travel all over Phoenix Metro for work.

I am not in a huge hurry. Please let me know. Thank you.

Typically a delay gives them 3 business days to research your background. They are required to call back and deny you in that 3 day window, otherwise no call or response during that time means they can release the gun. Ask them to show there store policy if it differs from the federal law. Make them give you a refund or give you the gun.

What years do they fit?

14 points would probably get her and early kaibab tag for sure, and put her in a good spot on late. Just dont do 12b early.
