    rifle build

Axisworks has been doing a few muzzle brakes for me, and one day I plan to have them build a rifle for me. My 257 weatherby will need a new barrel sometime in the near future I am sure.

The only 2 I listen to every time is Cleared Hot and Below the Belt. I am surprised at the amount of Brendan Schaub fans. I listen to most of the Meateater, Jocko, and Hunting Collective podcasts.

Towing out of terminal 4 garage sky harbor

Like mentioned. Lost brakes, and lost power brakes are different things. If you only lost power assist you should be able to make it out with the emergency brakes and some heavy leg exercises. You might have Popeye thighs when you are done though. The other option to get out of the garage is have a buddy with a truck meet you there. You tow him out of the garage. He uses his brakes to slow both of you. Once you are out, you can get a normal tow truck to take it from there. Or mobile mechanic.

    Traeger at Costco Tempe

To further today's installment of traeger cooking... bacon wrapped vidalia onions and squash to add along with a nice chunk of brisket.

The Texas beef blend is one of my favorites. Green mountain grilles fruit wood blend is another good one.

    Traeger at Costco Tempe

Honestly Traeger is probably no better then some other competitors, but they make a good product and offer lots of useful info for free online. They are probably the Yeti of pellet grills, but do a good job giving back to the pellet grill users of all brands, and support people who support the outdoors. That is why I was willing to pay a little extra for the Traeger.

    Traeger at Costco Tempe

I have an old cross flow smoke I used to use alot. Then I had kids and had no time to sit all day tending the firebox to keep the temps right. The Traeger tends its own firebox and puts out awesome food.

That Turkey is honestly the best Turkey I have ever had. It was brined, then smoked.

I have the size 22 and LOVE it. We bought it at Christmas for ourselves and we literally use it 3-5 nights a week.
  15. 12aw would be my choice. I have limited experience in kaibab, but did get my first kaibab hunt and first deer last year in 12AE on the October hunt. I had good recommendations from a buddy that helped me get a nice deer. He wasn't a monster by kaibab standards but was a darn nice deer IMO and was DIY. I saw 2 bigger deer at the check station when I checked mine, but bother were guided. 12aw late and out of state i would seriously consider a guide. The next time i hunt kaibab on any hunt i will scout alot more. Also buy a left over elk tag just in case. It would suck to spot them and have to pass on that good meat.

    safe mover?

If you plan to do it yourself, rent the 1600lb rated appliance dolly from a-z rentals with the ratcheting straps. 2-3 dudes, a truck, and that dolly will move an 800lb safe pretty easy assuming you dont have stairs or some crazy situation. Back in the day I moved 1000lb safes with 1 other guy. I also used to bench 400lbs so now I try and use more hands, better plans, and muscle when you need it.

    Where Am I?

Not enough... I did have a 40 something butch chick roadgrader driver try and pick me up at the Double D one year during deer season when I was about 17. I bet she could have taught me some lessons I am not sure I would have wanted to learn.

    Where Am I?

Make a left there. Right at the end of that road, past the Double D, then left to hit the back road out into Prescott national forest. I spent many of the formative years of my life in the hills behind Mayer hunting and camping.

RV water and dump in Flagstaff

The conoco still dumps, but doesn't have a potable water fill point anymore. Last year we went across the highway to black barts and filled water. It was like 1am so nobody bothered us for filling. They may have a fee normally though, I am not sure.

    Ready to cook some Bergers!

I picked up a box if 185gr 30 cal Classic Hunters today from Bruno's to play with in a 300 Weatherby mag. Axisworks is putting a brake on it and I should have it back soon. I have a couple elk hunts to get it ready for.
  22. I have these on several rifles and like them alot. https://www.amazon.com/TOURBON-Hunting-Shooting-Cartridge-Buttstock/dp/B017K3Z48W/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=29PRU4NSX0LBK&keywords=tourbon+cheek+rest&qid=1557191542&s=gateway&sprefix=tourbon+&sr=8-3

Tell us about your elk rifle, and cartridge?

My dad isn't able to hunt anymore due to his back, so I commandeered his Weatherby Vanguard in 300 Weatherby that sits in the safe. It is to abusive on recoil for fun shooting, so I dropped it off at Axisworks last week. In a few weeks it will be sporting a new muzzle brake, and when I get it back it's old Simmons 44 Mag scope is getting upgraded to a Burris Veracity 3x15x50 FFP scope. I already started brass prep, and hopefully Berger sends me the load data for the 185gr Classic hunters and 210gr HVLD on Monday that I emailed them about. This elk season this 300 weatherby may get the opportunity to put a second cow elk on its record. My dad used it about 20 years ago to take his one and only cow elk in unit 8.
