If that gun is 22WRF please let me know. I have a buddy who would probably love to have it to match an old 22 WRF rifle he has.
-
Was it 22 WRF Winchester rimfire? That it is an old round longer than 22lr but shorter the 22 mag.that is more likely then 22 mag. It is a cool old round.

The operator of the log winch kept asking kids to come pull the cord...which was connected to the steam whistle... My 6 year old and a couple other older kids said no. My 3 year old is pretty fearless and went for it. He about pooped himself when he pulled the cord and went running.

Hi All, I thought some of you may enjoy this. We recently went on vacation to NorCal partly to see this sawmill. It is an early 1900's vintage sawmill for cutting redwoods. My 6 year old is into all kinds of big machinery so I thought this would be fun for him and he loved it. If you are ever up this way on a weekend they run the mill you should go. http://www.sturgeonsmill.com

P.S. I also own a Lincoln 215 230v welder and it is nice, but has the A B C D E power settings which can be a pain. Fluxcore isn't as bad as people say if you are doing good welds and cleaning them. Gas is nicer though but makes your welder less portable because now you need a cart and bottle. My Miller 140v is fluxcore so it is more versatile. My big 230v machine is gas because it is to big to move alot.

Miller is my choice. I have the 140amp 120v and love it. Great welder. Get an auto Darkening mask (not harbor freight crap). He should be able to weld plenty with that.the duty cycle on the heavy stuff won't be as good as a bigger 230v machine, but a 115v machine is super useful and capable. Make sure whatever you get has the fully adjustable setting knobs. The ones with A B C D E power settings are not as forgiving for a newer welder. A good power source is a must too. A nice dedicated 20amp outlet for it goes a long way. Something like this is great. Don't overlook Hobart which is owned by Miller and is often starts at a better price point. https://www.weldingsuppliesfromioc.com/miller-millermatic-140-auto-set-mig-welder-907335

Scope Mounts and bipod suggestions, please!

I use Harris swivel bipods. As far as rings and rails I wouldn't be able to give first hand info. -
There was a nice 280ai in the classified section recently. Might see if it is still around.

He has done a great job on Joe Rogan's podcast as mentioned above on multiple occasions. He also got Rogan into hunting, and Rogan talks about hunting on his podcast quite a bit in a very positive light. You may not think that is a big deal, but Joe Rogan's podcast reaches ALOT of people. A lot of the people who listen to Joe Rogan are not people who would be a typical hunting audience, and to have him preaching the value of hunting in a positive light is HUGE. Steve Rinella has done a lot to help hunting, but honestly the 1 thing that might have the biggest value to hunters and hunting might be getting Joe Rogan to be involved and getting his audience to at least listen to someone who isn't an NRA or hunting elite talk about hunting and wildlife management. Joe Rogan now quite consistently has hunting friends of his on the podcast, talks and advocates hunting, and even has wildlife managers and biologists as guests to talk about subjects like coyotes, mountain lions, African hunting, etc.

I started listening to podcasts because of him about a year ago, and have watched his show that is available on Netflix. Great all around. I downloaded the stitcher podcast app and listen to just a handful of shows, but I listen to his every week. Another good podcast that people here might like is the Jocko podcast. It is not hunting related but I know we have alot of patriotic people, military people, and just plain motivated people here.

I worked at the AZ Sportsman on Camelback back in the day after high school.

Great gun for a left hander. These are ambidextrous loading, ejection, and safety. I love my BPS.

Minimum 3.73. Check and see if you are allowed to tow in OD. Then calculate the cruise RPM while at towing speed and find the gear ratio that will keep you in the powerband of your motor.

For most axles that are in full size vehicles pinion gear size & tooth contact area doesn't matter until you get into the deep gears like 4.88 or lower. I have done things to a 1/2 ton blazer front axle (GM 10B) with 4.56 gears and 37" tires that would make most well versed offroaders wince in pain for my axle and never broken a R&P gearset, and that is on the coast side of the gear.
-
I agree with Powell. I used to have 3.73's with 32's in my old K5 blazer. I bumped to 4.56's because I was planning on 35-37" tires. I loved the 32" tires and 4.56's and once I went to 37's I wish I had went to 5.13's. If you have 3.08's you should really consider at least 3.73-4.10's. If you plan on taller tires like 35-37's you should really think about 4.10's or more.

Buy it from them direct of Amazon. Before you do, go to Fry's and buy Amazon gift cards for Amazon hopefully at 4x fuel points. Use the fuel points to save money on gas.

Transmission Shop Recommendations East Valley for 2006 Dodge Ram 1500
Hoss50 replied to eastvalleyjerry's topic in Classified Ads
Randy's has built some pretty stout transmissions for Dodges for my buddies. I believe my buddy Frankie still works there. He is good people. -
Call Andrew at Letzroll Offroad. With gears I always say go at least 1 step lower the. You think you need. If you want 3.42 look at 3.55 or 3.73. If you have OD 3.73 is a good gear with 30-32 inch tires.

I have continually thought about fluting the barrel on my savage because it is a heavy pig. Even 6oz would be a little relief of weight. I have other projects that need the money first though I think.
-
How much weight does the flute save?

Avery's in springerville has a RV park. Call up and ask for Lance. He is a friend of mine and a great guy. You can get some good BBQ from his restaurant too.
