He was a flusher for a hunter, not the hunter. He had an unfortunate incident which is a shame. Let the hunter hunt, don't use people to flush and push animals to the hunter. That isn't my idea of hunting.

Stop cheating at hunting. Let the hunter hunt.

If I were you I would start looking in the transition areas where the pines turn to juniper. Get high and glass. Get to the places where roads aren't and see what you can find.

The best thing to do in 8 is get boots on the ground and time behind the binos. They can be all over the place in 8. I have been on good hunts there, and hunts where you would swear you were hunting ghosts.

It should have the mark and number of the series on the left side of the receiver.

It is a cut down enfield.

This was my thought as well. I usually have one in my truck.

Does he have a sun roof? I would leave him a note on his windshield letting him know that the sheriff & game & fish have been notified of his purposeful obstruction of the road. You might put a note on there that said the sheriff was going to send a tow truck to remove the broken down/abandon vehicle from the right of way...

I find it funny that everyone doesn't like paying for shipping on products. It is a cost associated with doing business. If you want "free" shipping you had better be prepared to pay higher prices on the products you are ordering to pay for that cost of business. Take a package down to the UPS store and try and have them ship it for you. I doubt you will be able to get package that is only a few pounds shipped to anyplace for less than $10-12. I work at a good size wholesale air conditioning company and we have a pretty decent FedEx rate, and I can't ship a package across Phoenix for less than $7-8.

I put the stake through the tarp when necessary. I love my Kodiak tent. I wish I had bought the model pictured above with the big side windows, but other than that, I have no regrets.

Hi Guys, I don't want any secrets or anything super special. I have a good friends who's father drew a CHAMP tag in 6A. He is a non-resident from Washington who comes down here to hunt with his son. He has a pretty nasty form of Rheumatoid Arthritis. He can't hump the hills hard anymore, but can do some stuff near roads. If anyone can give me some tips on the best places for a limited mobility guy to get an opportunity at an elk I would appreciate it. Thank you. Harley

Thank you everyone who helped out. I am hoping with only 25 tags for the hunt he can get it done on a nice animal.

My dad bought a bunch of ammo off a buddy many years ago. This canned ham is one of them, but we don't know what is in it. Does anyone recognized it? I don't really want to open it to find out if I don't have to.

Thank you everyone who has helped so far.

I have pretty decent allergies, and I asked my allergist for an EpiPen. She had no problem writing a prescription for them. I keep 1 at home just because, and I keep one in my hunting pack. I have wanted to have 1 for a long time since I spend a lot of time away from the city sometimes doing offroading and hunting. Now that I have kids, I made it a priority.

If you are going to bring it to phoenix I would use Axisworks. They have done 2 for me with great results.

I had a late rifle hunt in 8 many years ago that went like that. Nobody we talked with had seen anybody that had seen anything first hand. They heard of someone who talked to there cousin who saw one. They were absolute ghosts that year. The year prior we killed on the second day of the same hunt.

Pro Diesel is good also. They are off 19th ave north of Peoria.

I have only seen 2 Hondas have issues. Both were abused and not maintained. 1 was one of my construction crews didn't realize they knocked it over while running. It ran aon time on its side I am sure, but is messed up a bearing. We had it serviced and it still ran afterwards but you could hear something wasn't right, but it kept running. The other was a duner. We tried to take it elk hunting last year. We got there and it wouldn't start, or if it did would die almost immediately. We pulled the dipstick and the oil was low and BLACK. We dumped it out and you could see sand in the oil, and not just a little sand, alot. We flushed it with new oil twice, and it ran for awhile and stopped. I am told the owner had it serviced when we got back and it is running fine now...

This is just an observation and maybe I am wrong, but most of the posts I seem to read about bergers not performing or expanding is with the mid weight 30 caliber bullets like this one. I have not shot a deer yet with a berger so I don't have any direct knowledge but I have seen 2 cow elk shot with them. Both didn't go far. 1 was this exact bullet, a 168gr HVLD out of a 300 win mag at 350 yards. 1 shot and that was it. Mine was 115gr Berger HVLD out of a 257 weatherby mag. I shot my elk twice, though I found out during gutting the 2nd shot was not necessary. My first shot was at about 260 yrds, double lung. The elk startled but didn't act hit. I thought I missed to honest. She ran about 20 yards and looked back towards me. I shot her again quartering away. This bullet went lung and then lodged in the off side front shoulder. She went 10 yards and fell. I didn't find either round but i wasnt really looking. We had 2 elk down and didnt finish processing til about 1am. that shoulder had again decent amount of blood shot in it. Neither round exited. I really like the berger bullets and plan to keep using them on game. I am loading the 168gr bullets for my buddies 3006 so hopefully some year I will be able to more accurately post in this kind of thread.

Bullet selection questions

Double lung on both elk. My elk got a 2nd shot that I found out later that was not needed. The first shot hit both lungs leaving good size holes in them. She stopped and looked back at me quartering with her head away and I punched her through the lung and into the far side front shoulder. She went 10 feet and fell over. The shots were at about 280 yards. My buddy with the 30.cal was a 300 win mag at 350 yards. 1 shot double lung and she ran a little and fell. The 257 at almost 300 yards isn't going to be a shoulder breaker. The 300 probably would have been fine though. -

I dumped my cow elk with 115gr Berger VLDs from my 257 weatherby. They did just fine. Another buddy used 168gr 30 cal HVLD on the same hunt. No problems either.
