That thing is freaking awesome!

I was gonna say the same thing, if elk get in there and try to swim or what ever, it keeps them from breaking the valve in the middle, that's why its higher than the rim of the tank. Large bulls will still drink from that, I don't see it affecting a bull elks access to that water.

I have a used but still very functional and sturdy tripod adapter that came with my SLC 15x56 binos. I used this adapter for 3 years on many hunts so it shows its use. I wear lowa boots and will probably not change brands ever again. I started wearing them at work as a wild land firefighter and loved them so much they became my hunting boot. But la sportiva is good as I know a lot of people who use them and from what I've heard, the new kennetrek brand boots seem ok.
