Never heard of them, probably because I'm not from Phoenix. -
Hopefully you have a rifle tag in that unit and if you do, hopefully you can find them again. Nice bucks for sure.

Where at? -
Game & Fish always have good information on their website. It will give you a good idea on where to start looking and you can always improvise from there, good unit in my opinion, have hunted that unit since I was a kid, pm me if you have any specific questions.

Non Resident solo hunt questions
az_shooter replied to CurtisD's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I agree with 1970GTX, the fort huachuca 35A hunt would be a good way to go, good deer populations and beautiful country. I'm from that area and have lived here my whole life, I would be more than willing to come out and help you glass/scout for your hunt if you would like. Congrats on your retirement and hope your able to come and enjoy AZ soon. Thank you for your service. -
Sorry to hear that Robert, it's a shame what some people would do. Did you check with local forest service or even game and fish to see if a law enforcement officer took it off them selves? I've heard of this happening before so it might be a good thing to check if you haven't already.

Sitting at AZ Truck Outfitters waiting for some service to get done, read this whole thread from start to fiinish and I have one question... Who knows a good place to eat near Speedway in Tucson?... Bump for record!

You guys talking about Ft. Huachuca? I think I've seen that black Silverado before going and off post. -
Just saw you with the CWT.com sticker on the windshield. I waived but I don't think you saw.

A bit of a funny story, myself and a couple buddies were out bird hunting this afternoon and I was having a bit of bad luck and wasn't hitting any of the birds I was shooting at. Then a big storm moved in and we started getting poured on. We were huddled next to a few mesquite trees trying to stay dry but we were all soaked to the bone. Then I accidentally put a really nice Remington 1100 20 gauge barrel in the mud and out of frustration from everything I quickly shot to clear the barrel of what I thought was a little bit of debree, well it wasn't a little bit. Just glad I can laugh about it now.

CUSTOM SHOTGUN BARREL

New barrel is on the way -
What's the max range you've seen it read out in the country, and does it have true ballistic range?

CUSTOM SHOTGUN BARREL
az_shooter replied to az_shooter's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Agreeable, but the "haha" and "funny story" wasn't intended to sound like how it does. I intended for it to be more of a "wow I can't believe I just did that" kind of haha, not a haha hey guys watch this! You know what I mean. And I am glad I can look back and laugh about the situation now instead of looking back and seeing that I hurt myself. Like I said before, it was a mistake and a good learning experience, no one was injured and I hope people can look at this post and see what I tried to make it. Not just a "hey, check this out" but as a reminder to maybe think just a bit longer before you do something. Also my frustrations were not to the point of me just being unsafe and pissed off, it was more of a just not my day kind of thing. To all who don't like this and think I'm negligent, then so be it, but to those who see this as to what I intended, then wonderful, glad to help. -
CUSTOM SHOTGUN BARREL
az_shooter replied to az_shooter's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Alright now, listen, everyone here, including yourself has made a mistake before. I consider myself a very safe outdoorsmen. I put this up for you guys to see what happens and maybe someone will think "hey remember that post, maybe we shouldn't do this." I appreciate your concern for my safety but I don't need the scolding or lecturing bud. Feel free to use the picture for any of your classes you teach but please don't assume I'm an unsafe person, it was a mistake and no one was even remotely harmed. I won't ever do this again and it's called experience bud, some people get it in different ways. -
In the process, thread will be titled "custom shotgun barrels".

Wow, if that was a 20 gauge barrel I would jump all over it. Funny story, just happened today to haha. I was out dove hunting with my buddy and we were getting poured on by a massive storm and I accidentally kicked my remington 1100 20 gauge over into the mud and clogged the barrel. Well, out of frustration from being soaking wet and not hitting a single bird all day I pulled the trigger to clear the barrel of what I thought was a little bit of mud. Well, it wasn't a little bit and now I have a nice split barrel to show for my frustrations. It split into three pieces about 5 inches down form the end of the barrel. Nice custom job haha.

+1 on its a passion to us hunters and an obsession to everyone else. I try and explain to people I know what is so fun about getting up at 3 in the morning to be at your glassing spot by 6 when the sun still doesn't come up until 6:30, they always ask why when you could just sleep in? It's just the way we are.

+1 plenty of cats up here, hope your coming over here to shoot them with a rifle not a camera haha! Hope you find some.
