Beautiful rams, thx for posting the photos.

Nice!

Thought I'd read that USFS ditched the 30' rule and opted for 100'. 30 feet is ridiculous, 100' is better but still a bunch of baloney.

My best day was 5 dogs on 4 stands. All with a shotgun, spent less than 4 hours in the field.

Prevention is definitely the way to go. Especially if you've got an allergy to doxycycline (which I do).

Thx for posting, I'll check it out.

Congrats on the tag. I'd bet your son is probably walking on air too.

Don't remember all the details but in essence, studies show that the brain recognizes 30% more detail when both eyes receive the same image.

Got bit up in 22 a long time ago. At the time I worked with some Oklahoma boys. I'd never heard of chiggers in AZ at the time. These guys could not stop laughing when I showed them the bites. These guys advised me to take a smoking hot bath two times a day with a 1/4 cup of bleach in the bathwater. It worked for me. By the 3rd bath all symptoms were gone.

Outdoorsman's glassing stool
Swivelhead replied to 280REM's topic in Western Hunter and Elk Hunter Magazine
I've got a couple myself and think they are the bomb. Looks like the price has gone up $20 since I bought mine. At the new price point I'd like to think an alternate manufacturer could have a field day. -
new BUGASALT video I had not seen before. I love this toy/tool!

Personally, I prefer a "press to light" propane plumbers torch. Takes the wings off flying insects instantly. Great sport in any camp. Torch is the bomb for lighting stoves, lanterns, heaters, fires, etc. -
Straight is what I'd get too. Going with the "X"? It'd give you a lot of options down the road.

Outdoorsman's will treat you right. Angled or straight?

Lot of really good scopes out there. I'd recommend any of the big 3, Nikon ED III, Vortex Razor. If you've got the time to find a good used scope, one with a good warranty, you'll never lose a dime on your investment. I'd like to see Swarovski bring back the ATM/STM lineup. Relatively lightweight scopes with top notch performance.

Tony had opinions on some issues that the "shout down posse" on this site did not agree with. Some of the posters attacked him personally. He had enough and stopped posting.

Scary stuff, hope you find a solution soon. Pay attention to your body and try to pick up on the subtle hints that can tip you off to the onset of an event. Liquid Benadryl can head off a full blown event if taken soon enough. Also, an asthma attack can mimic anaphylactic shock. Get evaluated for asthma & pack an inhaler too if necessary. No experience with epi-pens (fortunately).

I don't see enough bears to be very good at judging size. That being said, I felt like that was young bear, thinking 125#. Blond with black face & legs, my favorite color phase.

The deer's cry's are haunting no doubt. When discussing hunting with non hunters or anti's, I'll mention that despite Disney's portayal, wild animals don't "pass on" with friends & family softly sobbing at their side.

Nice looking bear.

Commission was set to discuss hunt proposals 6/13. Anyone catch the rhetoric concerning the early elk hunts?

Ben Pearson Rogue| Anybody got any Pledge?

Nice find. Performed a similar clean up earlier this year. Can't remember if I used denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner. Came out good. -
Got two additional surveys via snail mail w/later due dates. Verified that it was the same survey then "filed" them.

I believe 6A/22 Rocky will be gone in the bonus pass for a number of reasons. 1) Relatively easy access from a major metropolitan area. 2) Big ol' rams. 3) Max point holders who are applying for desert sheep are applying for the very best desert units. Last year 9 of 17 rocky tags went in the bonus round. Expect a similar outcome in the upcoming draw. 4) It's one hunt # this year.

Looks like a really old sheep. What a trophy he'd be. Good luck in the draw all.

Do you agree with G&F forcing kids to take Hunter Safety???
Swivelhead replied to Big Browns's topic in Youth Hunters
Hunter ed should be mandatory for all. It is possible to teach an old dog new tricks. I've sat through three for various reasons, hope to do it again in about 7 years.
