Mule Deer, Coues and Cross Breeding
Swivelhead replied to m77's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I've observed a Coues buck tending a muley doe in 22. Also saw a hybrid doe hanging with muley does in 22. The hybrid had strange looking tail, big like a Coues but had a dark tip like a muley. She also had a light rump patch like a muley. Her coloration was very similar to a Wiemariemer (sp?). Cool looking deer, this deer was seen near the summit of Slate Creek off hwy 87. -
No love from AZ G&F. Leftovers aren't too bad.

Go to the source, call Dillon directly.

I like the modular concept. Pricing is obscene, I thought the Euro was tanking.

Hopefully Lark will return. The man knows his stuff.

Tough hunt. Unless you've got a lot of time to scout, you'd do well to try elsewhere.

Cats are definitely wild!!!!! Congrats to the U of A and their fans.

Cats go wild! Congrats on earning the finals.

Hopefully the cats can stay wild. Suspect they'll end up mild.

SFW email...here is who they say are affiliates

It would appear AZSWC has our Governor's ear. Not good in this particular instance. We must keep any bills giving tags away off her desk. -
SFW email...here is who they say are affiliates
Swivelhead replied to Farmer's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Got the same email. Apparently all the groups listed approve of AZSWC's lobbying tactics. An issue that concerns me is the fishing groups. AZSWC can claim fisherman numbers & organizations when lobbying for hunting issues. I wonder if our legislators know the difference. I doubt AZSWC has EVER lobbied a dedicated fishing issue at the legislature. Fishing groups could unknowingly buoy AZSWC's existence. Do you suppose AZSWC is pursuing fishing groups for this purpose? -

Governor hearing a sales pitch for HB2072 today
Swivelhead replied to audsley's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
The silence of AZSWC principals is deafening. It would appear Hamberlin and the rest of the board have greatly misjudged the mood of most AZ Sportsmen. Knowing this, AZSWC presses on furthering their own demise. I am hoping that additional Sportsmans organizations renounce their affiliation with AZSWC. I've lost any respect I had for these people, they have defined themselves. I'd like to recgnize those of you who have worked to keep the rest of us informed. You've done well. Thank you. -
I also have a T-3 with the EGW rail. Like it a lot.

Used to carry a rod/reel to check tanks for fish. Back in the day quite a few tanks would have bass, catfish but usually bluegills. Sadly, not too many tanks seem to hold fish these days. Too bad, it's alway a good time pulling on fish.

Looks as if the only salvage going on is along the right of ways.

Where do we go from here?
Swivelhead replied to archerycrazy's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
In the past I have been a proponent of AZSFW. Sent money and endorsed the cause. I encouraged friends to do the same, after all, sportsmen need representation in the legislature. Prior to the formation of AZSFW I was at the Boquillas ranch clean up where Chris Denham and others called an impromptu meeting to discuss the formation of AZSFW. The focus of the new group was to be sportsman representation at the legislature, a worthy endeavor. HB2072 has revealed the mentality of the movers & shakers behind AZSFW, these people have an agenda and it is not mine. Ultimately, the groups that AZSFW claims to represent at the legislature will determine AZSFW's future. YVRGC and AES have apparently renounced their affiliation. If and when other groups follow that lead AZSFW will sink. In the end AZSFW will probably represent the ADA at the legislature. LOL AZ sportsmen need a lobbying organization that is controlled and directed by the various outdoor/hunting organizations in our state. We must start this process over. Where do we start? -
New Legislation to allow Suppressor Hunting in AZ
Swivelhead replied to coues7's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Me, I won't do the class III thing. It would be nice if the laws would allow devices that could take firearm noise levels from 110 db+ down to say 85 db WITHOUT the need for a class III stamp. -
How low can it go?
