I'm confident out to 60yrds with my 12ga with #5 3" shells, and out to 90yrds with my double barrel 10gauge with 6 shot. And believe me it kills on both ends..

+1 on 3" #5 shot.  Stacked many gobblers out to 50 yds without issue.  Federal turkey load - lead with a flight control wad.

Awesome hunt for sure.  There are some great goats in there, but lots of little pockets to hide in.  That August hunt has to have one if the highest populations of rattlesnakes I've ever seen.  I was starting to think the rattlesnakes only diet was pronghorn poop.

Lots of buzzworms in that unit.  A buddy of mine encountered 13 (he kept count) while on hands and knees during his archery lope hunt.  Pay attention!

  3. Stumbled on to this while browsing Youtube.   There are multiple uploads.

I never met Dale Lee but did meet Clell in the late 60's at their upper ranch near Hannegan Meadow.  Watched Clell rope at the Alpine rodeo multiple times.   A good listen.

NFL has more integrity than CFB now.  Any program that shows a sign of being good will be poached... with NIL players move and they could move during the season - just crazy. Its a 1-2 year stability at best.

Figured Fisch would be poached, just not this soon.  AZ schools have a tough time keeping good coaches, better programs and $$$.

Yep, agree on all. Kind of like cowboys fans, loud when things are going well, silent all other times.

Really not much to say.  ASU athletics is in the toilet.  Enjoyed watching the Cats rock OU in the 4th quarter.  Congrats to the Cats on finishing strong.

Hi all! Met a guy at Putney’s in Tucson and he convinced me to take the leap of faith. However, I have no experience nor equipment to go hunting for the first time. Is there a list someone could provide of what I need to acquire? I’m assuming a pretty hefty upfront cost. Something I have always wanted to get into, might as well start now!

You don't mention what you'd like to hunt, most hunters start off hunting small game.  Seasons are generally long.  AZGF's website has a ton of info.  Learn the regulations, take an online hunter education class.  Dove, quail and rabbits abound in the desert.  Get a shotgun, a vest & decent boots then take a walk.

The Cats ended the PAC 12 conference over Tempe Normal with a complete asz whopping!

Now on to the BIG 12 where the Cats had to drag their little brother along kicking and screaming.

Seriously what a fall from grace for ASU ,  ASU ended the PAC 12 era with losing more than they won against the mighty UA,  face it,  ASU's basketball program is an embarrassment and the baseball team hasn't been relevant in two decades...All that sh it talking about Noglaes North is over, ASU ended the Pacific Coast Conference being UA's bitch.

To all the ASU fans - suck it bitchez you all suck azz!

    Surely you flatter yourselves.

your attempts at “boycott” are not hurting our business. The business revolves around horses,  it’s a guest ranch

It follows that Aspen Lodge advocates for feral horses on public lands.  Admit it and move on.

  9. Not A3 but AZG&F has flown 5BN prior to the early archery elk hunt (usually the Tuesday prior to the opener) every year I've been there.  Looks like a 180 Cessna, a tail dragger.  Easy to tell where they find elk as there is usually some high performance/low altitude flying.  Not sure why the do it but they do.

It’s truly pathetic how you try to use forums like this one to bully people into hurting a family business. Not everyone who comes from CA are liberals. There are plenty of people that just like to see all the species in our beautiful forest. You really should listen to yourselves. If that’s your mindset, then by all means, please don’t stay at the Aspen Lodge. But I’ll tell you right now, you only know 1% of the story. And it takes a real special person to try to take out a family business they know nothing about. Have you been there? Stayed there? Ever met the family? No. You haven’t.

The principals of Aspen Lodge (you) have taken a stance on an issue that is very important to outdoorsmen.  We will vote with our money and do our best to make fellow outdoorsmen aware of Aspen Lodge's stance concerning feral animals on public land.
