  1. If your kids want to hunt big game bad enough, they will do it. Both my kids did it just before they were 10 and together have killed deer, elk, pig and turkey. I have been through it a few times now. When I was 10 my dad drove me and my two best friends to that class in Phoenix for what seemed like 2 or three months. He said if they were going to be at our house and camping and shooting birds with us then they had to take the class. No offense but in my opinion... Yours should also...

  2. Never got around to posting these pics from our kids javelina hunt in the general season. We left home at 2am and were glassing as the sun was hitting the hills. We had a quad break and a couple great friends let us borrow their quad to get to the pigs. We got into pigs and my then 12 year old son shot his fourth pig at about 10 yards and my then 10 year old daughter shot her first pig at about 25 yards. My son was excited to pack out his own pig in his new pack frame. He packed out part of my daughters elk last November. If the video works, my wife filmed from a few yards back. The first shot is my daughter and her pig folded. Then my son grabbed the rifle and shot his pig on film. It also folded!!post-6097-0-05789300-1429744544_thumb.jpgpost-6097-0-03207500-1429745438_thumb.jpgtrim.DADD0729-8919-41A1-8BF5-DF8C465332AB.MOV

  3. My wife, Dad and I took our kids turkey hunting this weekend. My 13 year old son shot this turkey the second day. Had three toms within 25 yards before he dropped his with a 9 1/2" beard. Worked some birds with my 11 year old daughter but could not get them close enough for her. She was bummed until she found these sheds!! Then she was all smiles!! My son also found a smaller rag shed but sorry no pics. Thank you Game and Fish for giving the kids an early shot at turkeys!

  4. We have an 8 week old male black lab mix puppy for sale. I will post pics and you can see that he is not a mut, but he is not pure breed with papers. We have both mom and dad. We were giving the puppies to friends and the person who claimed this pup said her husband changed his mind today. So we would like him to go to a loving CW home. I need to be honest and say that his parents are siblings and a gate was left open on our property and we had puppies. He is a very healthy pup. Please make us a reasonable offer so he goes to a good home. Thank you. Please call or text. Bobby 480-220-6501

The yellow lab is Mom. The black lab is Dad. The pic with him sitting is today. The pic with the ball is at 6 weeks. post-6097-0-60509800-1423519419_thumb.jpgpost-6097-0-02422400-1423519447_thumb.jpgpost-6097-0-85069200-1423519468_thumb.jpgpost-6097-0-40537800-1423519491_thumb.jpg

  5. I also have 11 years on the job. I tested for 4 years and got hired by a small full time department at age 22. Then 2 years later got the call from a bigger city in the east valley. I have 2 bits of advice for anyone your age that is testing:

1st- stay in college and continue testing. No, you don't "need" it to get hired, but I did not finish my 4 year degree and I now have to go back to college if I ever wanted to promote. That piece of paper means a lot.

2nd- While in college get your firefighter 1 and 2 certification. Usually one semester. This will allow you to test for smaller full time departments and will get your retirement started. You can continue to test for a bigger city if you wanted.

If you ever want to ride along for a day give me a pm. We may be testing in the summer or fall. Good luck!
