How Do You Pull Your Bow Back In Blind: TIPS?

Sounds good! I have been sitting in a chair practicing at home. I am also holding every draw I do back for 10 seconds at a time building that strenght and durance up.

How Do You Pull Your Bow Back In Blind: TIPS?

I completely agree with the poudage! Accuracy kills not speed. My bow is 53 pounds and will only go to 60. I am working my way up but what a lot of hunters do not realize is that when you sitting freezing that 60 pound pull feels like 90 hahaha. I am so excited about this year. Thank you for your advice!

Thank youguys for replying so far. Good points. This weekend I will use my chair and practice from the blind. The hardest part is going to be pulling that bow back sitting down hahaha.

    True Story: Very Interesting

About 4 years ago my father and I began to hunt coues deer. Opening morning my father shot this buck with a bow. I asked my father this " Dad, what do you think the odds of finding a shed from this buck would be?". To my surprise my father responded back "What kind of dumb question is that?". I laughed and he said "Don't ask me stupid questions like that, the odds are 1 to a million". That was the total conversation. Hunting season came the next year and we went to our spot. Hiking to our tree stands, my father stumbles across this shed. The words out of his mouth "I don't believe this! You know what son! Your a #&!%!! Hahaha". The moral of the story is never give up dreaming wild and big because you never know what will happen. I will remember this to the day I die and will someday pass this story down to my kids someday .

I have heard that being up that close, those suckers spot your movement. Am I going to have to lay on the ground and pull my bow back or what lol?

How Do You Pull Your Bow Back In Blind: TIPS?

I am so use to standing up and shooting from a tree stand. I am going to be practicing sitting on the ground and build my strenght before Jan 1st but I just don't know any tips on how to pull it back in the blind with a buck 10 to 20 yards from me.

Congrats to you and your dad! That is an awesome story! Just the odds of that happening are actually pretty rare in Arizona.

    True Story: Very Interesting

It is true. I know that back east even in the mid-west, whitetails have a roaming range of about 2 miles for their life. Keep in mind that these facts are from books that I have read. However, I know that these little coues are the same as the white tail back east when it comes to natural instincts. I do believe though that these coues deer are tougher and more intelligent than the whitetails of the mid-west and back east. Hint they're little "Ghosts". I am glad you liked this story! I get a kick out of it and still to this day my dad can't believe it lol

I understand your point. I have been hunting this mountain for about 4 years now. I also know every buck where I hunt. There are no other bucks on the mountain I hunt with dual eye gaurds like that. Trust me it is the exact deer. My father found the shed a year later after he shot it in the same spot pretty much.

Anyone planning a bowhunt up north in January?

Good point. Exactly how far north do you plan on hunting? I hunt unit 22 and I always have great deer activity.

Are You Crazy Enough To Run After A Mt. Lion ;)

I kicked up a group of javelina and they had some babies. I froze and then made a " waw woooofff " sound. I heard it will irritate the javelina who is the leader. Sure enough the lead javelina turned around and ran towards me and stopped about five feet in front of me trying to figure out where the noise came from haha. I have also heard javelina bark like dogs before. My father was with me and was like what in the world!

    Scrapes and rubs

Listen to "oneshot". Hunt near the water holes in the summer if you do not get a deer in January. When the rut hits and you see scrapes, you would be out of your mind to not hunt that scraped area. In the rut those bucks will go out of their way to find them doe. Good luck and I would recommend a tree stand or blind cause the stock and spot in the rut is going to be pretty difficult.

    Rattling

My buddy rattles and said that it works great for him. Usually rut hit within a few days before January 1st or a little after. That has been what I have seen for the last 4 years. Anytime around those dates depending on when your unit allows you to hunt I would rattle. I prefer Doe Bleats to be honest. those coues deer are horny little ghosts and don't be surprised to see a spike come in your area and then a bigger buck behind him.

    Rattling

I have had only luck using a doe bleat. My father has as well. He called in two bucks within minutes of a doe bleat. I have used a doe bleat before and caused two bucks to get into a fight .

    Estimate This Buck's Rack Please!

Thank you so far for all the replies. I am getting an idea of that this buck is around 90 inches which is exactly what I have been trying to find. Although I have many other nice bucks that are going to be hard to pass up. Sorry about the same post multiple times. I am still getting use to how this website works.
